Pretty Guardian Sailor moon shortened to PGSM was only aired and released in Japan. It ran from October 4, 2003 to September 25, 2004. The only way to watch it is through pirate copies or downloads. The series lasted 49 episodes which were released as acts. There are also two separate DVD specials. Although PGSM is a retelling of the manga, though there are differences. There are also similarities and differences to the anime. for one the storylines are more character driven. And relationships within the show are somewhat closer then the anime. For example Rei's and Usagi's relationship isn't as hostile lol. I have found sailor moon is like marmite you either love it or hate it. I love it!
