Well, I have 3 favorite characters at my disposal here. Shikamaru is the only one for the good guys. He's intelligent during battles, is cool most of the time, and was like the first genin to turn into a chuunin in his posse, seeing as that was from the Chuunin Exams. Next is the neutral guy in terms of good or bad, and that's Sasuke. I just love his attitude to... everyone and how he got so much stronger in Shippuuden. Third but definitely not least is Sasori, the bad guy. Seriously, even though he appeared in only 2 fights and died in the one against Sakura and the elder, his past is just completely hardcore and his powers are sick.

Agreed, Shikamaru gets the cool fights ^^ I think they're more interesting than others because they are tricky and he has to use his superior intelligence to solve the problem (which is very refreshing in between fights of Naruto for example :P) , and it's nice to see how his plans unfold. He keeps surprising me and I really like that. ^^

I believe it was one of his fights during a boring Friday night, that got me watching the series in the first place. His fights aren't just filled with mindless, mind-numbing action... they actually make you think. It's like watching a small, skinny guy beating an opponent 200 pounds heavier than him, in a martial arts bout, using solely technique... it's a thing of a beauty.
