She's definitely not the strongest in the village, but it was her ability to lead it that gave her the position. Kakashi is no slouch, and he's definitely an invaluable Shinobi in Konoha right now.

yessi, a hokage don't have to be the strongest in the village but the hokage have to be very strong and kakashi right now isn't

Yeah saying Tsunade is weak is ridiculous.... She pwns period nuf said.... As far as Danzou(Root ANBU Leader) being strong... he seems more like a person who uses others for his scheme then being strong himself.

You forget, a person's strength can be mesured in many different ways. Look at shikamaru. His only attack is making his opponent do what he does, but he got chuunin first.

The thing is, the enemies are so strong right now that I don't believe any Konoha-nin could take one on, by themselves (Other than perhaps, Naruto).

Comparing the present to the past is not accurate, because things are not the same as they were back then. Akatsuki is in a league above anyone else, so they'll make almost any ninja look like nothing compared to them, not just Kakashi...

Kakashi has shown all the qualities needed to be a great leader and has saved his teammates numerous times. He's a former student of the 4th Hokage, he has fought in the Third Great Ninja War, he was an ANBU squad leader, he is well-known and respected by everyone in Konoha and his reputation even exceeds outside the village, as Konoha's "Copy Ninja", rumored to have copied over a thousand jutsu. He's regarded as a genius, his intellect even rivaling Shikamaru's.

Of course he has weaknesses, but so does every other great ninja. The times he has been hospitalized due to his Sharingan, were when saving and protecting his teammates, and he did get the job done. He is the best candidate IMO, if not him, then who would you consider a better person for the position, that's currently in the village?

Yep, Kakashi is the best possible next candidate, even when Jiraiya was alive. Konoha seems kinda lacking in exceptional jounin these days..

@ khasou - Even yet I still do not belive Danzou or Yamato is even a match for tsunaade. Definitly in order Tsunade, Kakashi, Yammato, Mato Gai and Naruto are the strongest nin in Konoha, considering naruto fully gets the hang of his sage training. Ofcourse there are some bit more, but I belive these are on top.You are forgeting that Tsunade has more battle exp than Yammato or Kakashi.

@ senji - I fully agree with kyon kun. I dunno why you think kakashi is so weak, but if it wasnt for him Konoha would have been a bit weaker country than it is. Kakashi has the brains and the Power to be Hokage any day. He is a Living Legand.

well actually there isn't any better candidate which is quite a shame it seems like konoha has gone dead, well shikimaru will be good with his intel and the ninja skills of his comrades he can form a plan and defeat any enemy that comes their way

anyway kyon-kun one of the reasons i think he can't be next hokage well the last time they was in need of a hokage kakashi wasn't a candidate and the village need someone who can surpass or measure up the ninjas of tomorrow and not today or yesterday.

but being a hokage is about more than that so cha i guess he can be but sorry kakashi as hokage i don't see it and tsuande dying either but then again i have no control over the naruto universe

noti noti,even if you had control over naruto universe, senji U are completely wrong in your theory. kakahi is a good candidate to hokage. he is well balanced Shinobi. and one of very few in konoha who can take S ranked criminals head to head. Plus he too has inherited "the will of fire" from Yondaime. So kakahi has all the things he needs to be the next Hokage, more than any one in the village.

The last time the candidate was Jitraiya and he recomended Tsunade and so on. if jiraiya was missing like he was then kakashi would have been the hokage already. knowing that shinobi of tomorow should surpass the once in past or precent, that knoledge it self makes kakashi a wise person ( U just used his own line against him senji ) cha.

Somehow to me Tsunade doesn't seem strong with just her superstrength and healing abilities. I mean if i compare her to the awesome strength and speed of Gai who fights on par with Kisame and probably most of Akatsuki, Gai would win.
