naruto,Not as bad as people claim it is It was the anime that initially hooked me into the series. When I found out about the manga, I read it until the newest scans, which was around the first meeting with Itachi. Since then, I read it weekly. Naruto had great potential in the beginning. The story kept me entertained throughout the first part of the series. But I started to slightly lose interest when the Sasuke-chase was going on. Because I read it weekly, it felt like an eternity until some progress showed. Still, it was very entertaining. Naruto went from "WOW, this is AWESOME" to " Hmm.. interesting" to " It is ok...", because of the friggin' slow pace. Then came the 'Shippuuden'. Which was interesting at first, but somehow there were so many 'deus-ex machina' involved and last minute killer jutsu's, that it lost a lot of credibility. And the pacing is not very helpful neither. But still, it was enjoyable to read. Not one of the best, but certainly not one of the worst. Recently I re-read the Viz-version of Naruto ( ART OF THE DOPPELGANGER?!?) and I was actually pleasantly surprised it. If you read the chapters as part of volumes, and volumes as a part of the overall story, the pacing suddenly seems less craptastic and at times, it was even quite enjoyable. I noticed a lot more subtle references and enjoyed it more than my first read. So what I found out was the fact that, if you read Naruto as a whole story, the flow is much better and the enjoyment- factor multiple times bigger. Bashing Naruto and giving it 1's is immature and not needed. Give it an objective view and refrain from bashing it because it is so popular. now ,[chick here] to read it |

The pace of the manga has picked up again recently, but now it seems like masashi kishimoto is revealing everything too quickly, as though he's in a rush to end the manga. In my opinion there was no apparent preamble to the 'revelation' of narutos parents in the more recent releases. The anime is a different matter completely. Shippuuden is very very frustrating! I understand that the producers of the anime don't want to catch up with Masashi but at this rate they never will! Sometimes it seems like they have taken one page of the manga and made a whole episode out of it. It actually makes me want to bang my head against a wall. |

I was really into Naruto at the begining, that is up until Sasuke left to find Orochimaru. Then it just started annoying me. Sasuke is such an idiot and yet all the characters ever did is train and make sure to start crying about him about once a chapter. It was a real struggle to read it until the end =.=' And i still figure it was a waste of time since the manga repays my vigilance by killing off one of my fave characters. |

naruto, okay, but takes too long i was never interested in Naruto until i saw the anime. I basically only watch the anime until the 100+ episodes, i turn to read the manga. the manga was actually better cause it didn't waste time like the anime, the filter episodes. Also, the manga showed how Kakashi got his Sharigen eye. The anime still does not show how. But the battles take too long. It seems as if one battle takes up the whole volume. The art was so-so. The plot, at first, i liked it. It was good. But then, later on, it was just dragging. One battle, takes, like, 10 episodes or something. -__- What i don't get is, Sasuke left on his own to Orochimaru, so why does Naruto still tries to rescue him? Sasuke left on his own!! for goodness sake!!! i just don't understand!!! read it online |
