Getsuga Tenshou/Tensho... a little help please..

..." according to the book Getsuga Tensho means Moon-fang Piercer of the Heavens. which is cool, and for some reason the phrase piercer of heavens really means a lot to me. so i was going to get getsuga tensho tattooed on my ribs. but when i started doing some research to make sure thats what it actually means. its not even close.

getsuga is part of a word that means half-moon. and tensho means characters on a seal.

so i guess im wondering if anyone speaks any japanese that could give me a hand.

it might have connection to the tenshi, or tennin, spirits equivalent to angels in japanese buddhism. i think it might be that connection (tensho~angels->associated with Heaven). it's a bit difficult to understand. perhaps Tensho may have a different meaning in a different context or dialect.

Im sure its Getsuga Tenshou to be exact which translate to black heaven's moon slice i think.

i was trying to study some japanese i still try to learn it when i have the time but some characters have different meanings when they are put together and when you say them seperately but ya i gusse you'll have to find someone that really knows everything about it =x.

The bankai form of Zangetsu, named tensa Zangetsu (天鎖斬月 chains of heaven - slicing moon)

thats what i found but there are so many others with different meanings (kuroi getsuga) means (black moon fang) so i dunno
