Hmm yes I agree with what ueki has said here, Ace's mother died after giving birth to Ace. Pirate king Gol D. Roger begged Garp to save his son; he said that his son doesn't need to bear his (roger) sins. Since Garp and roger fought so many times, a bond started to build up between them, cuz of that Garp adopted Ace and left Ace with his grandson (Luffy) to train. Luffy is Dragon's son, and yes there is a possibility that Roger and dragon has any connection. We still don’t know yet, oh and one more thing Oda has never talked about Luffy's mother so maybe she is still alive we don’t know that either ~.~

Good point there Night, yeah this made me wonder about that too. Perhaps she is alive in a plcae where we dont know. Or maybe she is one of the nobles ( just a wild giess), that would make things very very interesting, IMo.

I mean dragon fight for equal rights in a rebellion making luffy a rebel leader son , on other hand he is a close person to red shanks and related to Roger by being a little brother like figure to Ace.

Then he is grand son of a marine vice admiral and a her, so if his mom was a marine noble that would make things equal , lol

im just curious that why is that ace and luffy's grand father is the same. but luffy's father is monkey d dragon while ace's father is gol d roger if that so oldman garp has 2 sons dragon and gol. cause they are both different

gol d roger is the "pirate king" while
monkey d dragon is the "world most dangerous criminal"

gol d roger is ace father.. dragon is luffy father.. garp is both luffy and ace grandson.. maybe dragon and roger is siblings.. anyway, we just wait oda sensei to tell us the story and history of luffy.. and there is still the possibility for dragon is the transformation of roger.. ace and luffy came from the same father with diff mother.. luffy is the son of his mother with dragon who is the transformation of roger.. well so many xplanation for this.. and that what make one piece so much interesting compared to other.. peace guyz..

the last three posts literally say the same thing. dragon and roger where bro's with dif mothers and same fatha and that they got laid and had ace and luffy. o.o

could it be that luffy's mother is Gol D. Roger's sister? I mean his mother isn't introduced yet.. or maybe Dadan was luffy's mother.. but the surname wasn't mentioned yet.. so maybe it was Gol D. Dadan or something.. XD

It is possible that Gol D. Roger is Dragon. . . Now relating to his death or severe sickness, remember the devil fruit user who help luffy inside the empel tower?? that guy is companion of Dragon, so maybe he is the one who cured him. . . and regarding the treasure?? cmon. . he is the one that inspired pirates to sail out to the sea. . just think of this, what did Kuma told Rayleigh during the fight between Kizaru?? maybe he is telling that roger is still alive. . . what is there primary target??? of course FREEDOM from the damn World Government. . just was only my opinion. . . .but it is possible, right?
