I think, that all "D."s are related somehow. I guess they are all ancestors of the people who lived in the kingdom, the world government was fighting against 800 years ago.

After Reading All Your Comments i find it Very interesting About this topics...
About Roger Name It's Not Gold D Roger But Gol D roger. Ok Now We all know what kind of power luffy and ace have...But Not Roger, dragon and garp.
let just say that roger have the power to turn back time or something like that...*this just a theory Of what i think*

Theory No.1

Let just say that roger bring him self from the past to the future. Because Gol D know he is ill and surrendering him-self to garp but he dint want his lagacy to end like that so he bring him-self from the past to present and give it a new identity as Dragon Only garp Know This..And this explain Why Dragon And Roger Have same face. and why luffy has the same face as roger when he was a child like garf said it when at skypea....After that Roger Got maried with protugas D Rouge And Ace was Born Shorly after that but at the same time Dragon Got maried with luffy mom and luffy was born afterward. and the confilct begin...lol

Theory no.2

same like Theory no.1 Insted bringin his-self to present time..He brings his mother back from the past to the future...(when Gol D roger mom was young) And After ward his mother Got maried with Dragon and PRAGNANT!!! Wich Give birth to two sons. Shortly after that Roger used his power to send his mother back into the past along with one baby wich is HIM...ANd the other one is luffy under dragon and garp care...

Theory no.3

Dragon And Gol D Roger are the same People.....With a little help his power to turn back time/ time controling, He play as two role...Dragon And Gol D Roger.. But When he learnt that he cant be both he has to chosee to be Roger Or Dragon..And He chose to be Dragon...With a little trick And twits here and there Gol D roger Dies...But Think Why he smile upon his death and why he tell people about One Piece...I thin Gol D roger Is Good In acting and he just play dead after the goverment barried him, he turn times and go back to Dragon HQ to Get his wound treat!!! X.X

they are some interesting theories definably some thing to think about. but the power to turn back time..... i am not to sure.... maybe....there are a lot of devil fruits.

new theory that Gold is just a nick name because he ate the Gold Gold fruit or some thing again theory

Well Gol.d.Roger was Garpes main enemy and the father of ACE luffy and Dragon and Garp have no real connextion to him (but some people think that it might have been Garps brother Roger that is but its doughtful)

the D in there name could be a clan link its a theory because in a clan you have many different families so that can enplane how giants and human can share the same letter it a theory but there could be tru cos most clans form when the share the same ideas...or have the same goal but its stronger than an alliance.

nope gol d roger is not directly connected to luffy but ace is his real son
i think this is how it is connected:
garp>dragon>luffy

gol>ace

and garp adopted ace so he became luffy's step brother

maybe roger didn't die at the execution time,who knows.. of course there is blood relation among the 'D' family, but it still remain secret. but the relation between Roger and Dragon may be close and mystery, since there is a statement by whitebeard that these two are among those who knew about the past story. just my opinion.hehehe
