Have you ever CRIED watching One Piece (SPOILERS up till Episode 345?)

HI!!

I've been LOOKING EVERYWHERE for a forum where I could heartily discuss my love for anime. Being a 28yo woman, whenever I say I watch anime people think I watch CARTOONS...like you know...CARTOON NETWORK. Nothing wrong with that, but they are two different things...anime and cartoons.

ANYWAY!!! I've watched up to Eps 345 I think, and I want to know if anyone else have cried watching One Piece....

BTW, I NEVER DOWNLOAD any of my animes, Except for YAOI and HENTAI titles because I cannot find them on the shelves obviously. I've spent Tousands of Malaysian Ringgit buying SO MANY titles, all original, because I want to support the people behind the anime. Which is why I'm ALMOST ALWAYS broke!!! hahahahahha. But there really is NOTHING quite like owning the ORIGINAL....seeing all the boxes side by side.... *blisss...

I've cried at sooooooooo many moments.........could be because I'm SUCH a SAP, but the story, and the way the SEIYUUS portray their voice...... really GETS TO ME. I love how One Piece is largely about friendship, teamwork, being a family. It's not JUST about the battles etc. Luffy, no matter how SILLY he is at times, always fights for the RIGHT THING!!!

I've cried at these moments (amongst others) :-
(i) Nami's history........when her stepmom sacrificed herself for her children
(ii) Sanji's history, when I saw that the jiji (old man) was sooooooooo skinny after having sacrificed his portion of the food for sanji
(iii) when chopper cried so hard leaving Magnetic Drum island, seeing the "sakura"
(iv) when Golden Mary was..........burnt.........oh this part I cried SO HARD..........I was practically racking with sobs.

There were many more parts, but I have forgotten.

LUFFY's VOICE can really make me cry. I mean the SEIYUU, who's a TINY WOMAN, and she looks like 40+, but still very youthful looking, does an awesome, amazing JOB as Luffy's seiyuu. I mean........whenever Luffy is angry, the voice woudl shake....as if REALLY ANGRY. When Luffy's LAUGHING, it's such a HEARTY LAUGH!!! And when Luffy's sad / on the verge of tears....or when Luffy was speaking to Golden Mary as she was being Burnt..........Oh mY GOD...I'm near tears just TYPING this and reminiscing........she does an AMAZING JOB!!!! Her crying VOICE, makes me cry.

I think ALLLLLLLLL the seiyuus are AMAZING in One Piece...from the cute Pikachu voice of Chopper to the sarcastic tone of Zorro.


Anyway, Would love to hear others' experience.

I've felt extremely sad at lots of scenes in the anime, including all those you've mentioned, but I haven't cried at any of them, I guess it is because I am not a very emotional person, but hey, who's to blame

every time i see that part it makes me cry T_T

well, the only parts that made me extremely sad, at which i wanted to cry but couldnt, were the point at which luffy beated ussop, and zoro told luffy that this is the burden of a captain, and luffy said its heavy.
the second time was when ussop fell on his knees shouting im sorry, and luffy shouted that ussop is stupid and pulled him on the thousand sun... or w/e their new ship called. btw

@fantasiser- 1. there is nothing wrong with watching anyme at that age, exept for watching yaoi which is a serious disgrace for any age >.<.
also i know there r some guys here with over 20 too...some of them really active and some of them r even mods, or Smods.
2.the first ship was called the Going Merry not the golden merry, thats y im not buying any anime videos, the subs r usually really bad...in a pleasent language. most of the subs for one piece r bad... i hope some fansubs group on the level of dattebayo will take one piece as a project. also, by buying one piece episodes, dosent help the anime productors, as much as the ppl who get it from japan and the stores, cause what u buy is around of 60%-70% more expensive than the real japanese video/DVD that sold at japan. thats how being an anime lover outside of japan is.

i just love One Piece... every tragedy thats ocurre in the anime and manga is heartbreaking for me... specially when they separate from Videl T_T

oh yeah, one piece is really good at pointing out emotions >>..

I cried in all scenes you mentioned, espacially the going merry and sanji scene..

i really love to see luffys determination.. e.g. when he fought don krieg.. makes me wanna cry too xD

why is watching yaoi a disgrace? there are men who watch lesb porn everyday and yaoi is for someone with.. other tastes >>.. well lets discuss this in another thread
