I would say that my favorite character that is fully in the Detective Conan universe is Gin from the Men In Black. He has a pretty cool name for his dark character in Detective Conan, but later on, he really does do some heartless evil things like how he shot Ai tons of times and killed Pisco like that. He's incredibly cool like that. I would have also chosen Kaitou Kid since his awesome trickery, his easy going attitude, and his dressing fashion is awesome, but he also has his own manga before Detective Conan ever started; thus, he's not really just a Detective Conan character.

Definitely Ran, closely followed by her father Kogoro and her friend Sonoko. the stories with these three are simply the best. ;)

Episodes with both Sato and Takagi and also extremely funny to watch. :D

About Ran, you gotta love the insistent reasoning and games she does to uncover Conan as Kudo. Or her scary face when she becomes a Karate killing machine.
