actually there's a lot of difference between the two. first of all, Lelouch is a lot more humane than Light. he doesn't take sacrifices so lightly, and cares about his allies even if hurting them doesn't directly endanger him. second, Death Note 28

Euphemia was killed by LeLouch, even tho LeLouch has made a mistake, I don't think Euphemia would ever forgive him.

Kira and Zero was symbolically similar, I wasn't meaning exactly alike. Of course, there are lot of differences, they are different anime after all. but it would have been more ridiculous for me to say it is same as SpongeBob SquarePants.

Zero started with good reasons, but now he killed someone that could have returned Japan the way it was.

These are the similarities I picked up.
1.Zero and Kira both hid behind a mask, Kira hid behind his room to use the Death Note in most cases, while Zero literally had a mask.
2.Zero was willing to do anything for Nanali her sister, Kira was willing to do anything for justice, even if it was tricking literally everything, including his family, shingamis and himself.
3. They both are using supernatural powers
4. They were both given by some other entity that are immune to their powers
5. Kira got chased by L, Zero is being chased by Suzaku. Both of these characters had Rivalry going on.
6. C.C. enjoys Pizza like as much as Ryuk enjoys apples.

whiteday26: the thing about CC definitely true

if we look at the bigger picture here, Raito in death note definitely had bigger goal than lelouch. he aimed for the world justice even though his justice kinda twisted ( he wanted to be god of a new world). he's only acted alone, i dont really count kagami and misa as allies though he just using them. For Reuk he just enjoying wacthing how human does things he not only didn't help Raito when needed (only helped him when traded with apple) but _______ him.

Lelouch in the other hand only aims to over powered his dad and makes a better for his little sis. he has many underlings that he can easily interact with. As for CC, she help him directly gives and comes in rescue during tense situation.


Suzaku: i dont understand this guys (as i said earlier) i think he's a little bit confuse. He killed person important to him to get to his goal but he pisses off when other ppl does that.

p/s: from my post i think it already obvious that my fav character = lelouch (Raito also)

you mean after she recovers from the shock that her beloved cousin shot her but you know, after Suzaku rescued her, she didn't seem too angry about it... actually, I can't imagine her hating anyone... besides, I don't think he had much of a choice about what to do next. what would he say to the Japanese people? "please don't be angry with the princess that promised to make your dreams come true and then massacred you wholeheartedly, it was actually me who accidently bewitched her to do it using my supernatural power I seem to be no longer able to control, you may lynch me at will."

some points I want to share about those similarities (I'm not arguing about it, you are right... mostly):
1. in that case he's also similar to Batman-.-
2. he didn't do everything for justice, from episode 4 or so he started doing everything to beat L and everyone else that was a possible threat to him. there's one other big difference between the two that I forgot to mention. Lelouch's interests are selfish, he wants to do things only for himself and the one person that is most important to him. on the other hand, Kira's interests are idealistic. he wants to create a world with no evil. I'm not saying either is good or bad, but Light strayed from his original goal because his will to live beats any idealism.
3. almost every anime has something supernatural to it.
4. oooh I like that one. but if they weren't immune to that power they would have thought twice before entrusting it to some teenage weirdo. and they would have probably considered even more carefully before exposing themselves like that, don't you agree?
5. but of course they had rivalries going! would it be a story if they hadn't?
6. that's my favorite one! I didn't notice it myself but pizza is much tastier than apples and C.C is possibly human, or at least she's humanlike, unlike Ryuk. and I think she eats other things than pizza. and she's not addicted to it.
7. one similarity you missed out: they're both very clever, and incredibly good strategists.
8. another one you missed out: they both have non-japanese names that start with L.

1. lol Batman~ however, he doesn't meet the other criteria, so he fails.
2. self preservation is obviously for his idealism, what would be the point of making the world a better place, if you are not gonna live in it?
3. Not if you watch something like 'Welcome to NHK, Lucky Star, REC, Azumanga Daioh, Saikano, Air Gear, Black Lagoon, Ghost in the Shell, Gunslinger Girls, Honey & Clover, Ichigo Mashimaro, Ichigo 100%, Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, etc,' completely free of 'supernatural' scenes.
5. I meant as a rivalry as a major theme, they could have had that as a weaker theme.
6. Don't you think Shingami's apple looked like capsicum a little bit?

8. L must be a popular letter in Japan lol, well I can't spell lol without Ls either...

-sponge bob was there as an example of what I could have compared with, which would be the worst thing to compare with. That was originally responding to 'lot of differences in those two (DN and CG) in which case SB would be also have a lot of differences in as well.

3. didn't watch most of them, but air gear? not supernatural? in one episode, Ikki climbed about 30 meters on a smooth, vertical wall using... engined roler blades? and spinning too? that defies the laws of physics...
and Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo? the basis for the plot is that she can go back in time@_@
