Well, I found only two episodes of this anime too be anything special: the episode where they animate the battleship computer game, with that cool scene where the robot/android girl programs like crazy, and the episode where Suzumiya Haruhi sings those two awesome songs.

the rest was just like any other sort of light, comedy anime.

I think this anime is the most quotable animes out in the world at the moment. Absolutely one of my favs.

I myself find rather confusing at first but then again when I went through it from start to end it made all sense

indeed, the first episode is the only one that i think is out of palce....it can be watched as a OVA, after all the series....but like bar said....the none cronological order is one of the special things about this anime....is beautiful hehehehe
