I'm so confused.

I'm watching this series and the way that I thought it went was where there were different stories about the town and curse and such. But now I'm at the 18th episode and its showing a different side of the story of what happened in the start of the show. But the episodes in between where different like with Keiichi wishing for the town to die or something then it shows them being killed by disease or something.

Maybe I watched them in the wrong order? Or was everyone else just as confused as I was?

Maybe I'm just slow x_x

So if anyone can clear it up for me.. is this all the same story with it just going to different views of the characters at the time or is it separate stories that don't have anything to do with the others?

Well there are 2 seasons,in the 1rst there are 26 ep's (higurashi no naku koro ni) and in the 2nd (higurashi no naku koro ni KAI) there are 24 ep's,so 50 all together.The 1rst season is really confussing as you say,i had also problems understanding it,but once u watched the 2nd season u'll understand perfectly. :)

but here's the answer if u cant w8 ! but it's a spolier so i suggest u watch the entire show,
