Hmm, now it makes me wonder why is it Japan the only country I see having expose their country's history in programmes for entertainment (anime)

Lol, anime also made me want to visit Japan. Idk why, maybe cuz they put subliminal messages. And i've always wanted to wear one of those giant round samuraish hats walking around town (do they still do that??? idk)

Yes they do, there everywhere. Infact if you dont bow when someone walks past wearing one theres a good chance you will loose a finger or possibly get bitch slapped.

thats not true other coutries have ade movies and cartoons and comics about their history too

Still being in college I'd like to go during my training period.

Although the language seems like a problem to me, an old friend of mine used go to a Japanese class and they taught her different words for everything depending on what social class you are in. Is that still true, or is it how it was in the past?

The culture is what interests me the most, it's gotten so bad that I went to Ikea and got myself 2 coffe tables, pinned them together, sawed off a part of the legs to make myself a kotatsu

. Oh yeah forgot, I also imported a Haro from Gundam OO =P (although everybody keeps calling it "your orange" when it starts to irritate them....)

I'm not worried about rasicm, it's everywhere. Here in Belguim it's gotten so bad that you're called names in certain neighborhoods because you're Belgian

japanese still have that formal and informal speech, yes. better not talk informal with a superior or people you don´t know, it´s impolite.
