I may be saying some negative things about Japan in general, but still, visit it, stay there for a few months, you'll still love it.

All I mean is it will be nothing like you expected.

Japan isnt a bad place, its just way too many people come here expecting it to be anime x 100000 and full of lulz when in reality japan is just like anyother country. Only you will probaly have a harder time trying to fit in here than just about anywhere in the world. My advice to anyone considering moving here is to come for a month. A month gives you time to get a feel for the place. Just moving here outta the blue (like i did) generally isnt such a good idea.

Out of curiosity, what's the basic religion in Japan? I saw in Jdrama and anime that sometimes they go to pray in the temple and ring the bell or light incense stick, which religious practice is that?

sometimes I also see them go to the temple during the new year and write down their wishes and tie them in ropes (or something like that) ... one thing about the Japan I see in anime and Jdrama is that they have so many festivals and celebrations and holidays (yehey!)

shintoism and buddhism are most common in japan. what you describe there is very common in japan, for most japanese like to pray to guardian deities of certain shrines, for example to a love deity, or simply for luck on the next test. you might want to take a look at the wikipedia article about religion in japan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Japan

Most people dont strictly follow any religion from my experiences, BUT the majority that believe, are budist(cant spell it lulz) or shinto, or a mix of both.

I lol`d the other day when i was stoped by the harry krishna dudes, i was like wtf your in japan too dammmmmmmmmm.
