| No, I don't sleep. | Well given that it doesn't really fit in Spam or the Books subsection, as well as the fact this is about Western comics instead of Manga, I figured I'd put this here. I tried searching the forums for a similar topic, by the way. So anyway, talk about and share any comics you've been reading or enjoyed in the past, whether it be Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Vertigo or any other publisher, put it here. Not surprisingly enough, I've been reading Star Wars : Legacy, which is set 137 years after the events of A New Hope (Episode IV). It's really well done, the art and story really are top notch, and I find myself rushing down to the comic store pretty much every week to see if they have a new issue in. Spoiler I'll go off Star Wars for now, and talk about a series from Vertigo Publishing called DMZ. DMZ's set during a new American Civil War in modern times, and deals with the Demilitarized Zone of New York City, where both the North and South armies have reached a ceasefire agreement, of course, this doesn't last very long, and a reporter is trapped with just his camera, laptop and whatever else he brought along, yet he still chooses to report about a way of life which is virtually a mystery to the rest of America. It's thick with political commentary, and the allusions to the Iraq war are pretty common, but it usually takes a back seat to excellent pacing, story telling and distinctive art. Spoiler That's all I'll talk about for now, over to you guys, if this interests you at least.

| πάνσοφος ![]() | My favourite comic was [and still is] Thorgal, originally published by Le Lombard. I was reading it in version published by Egmont Polska. Story unites many elements: Vikings, Norse mithology, fantasy [Thorgal is a "star child", one of the last survivors of a group of technologically advanced space-farers who came to Earth in search of new energy sources]. It's violent, but beautiful story with amazing art, about world, where gods are powerfull and mean, people kill each other to survive and where the biggest dream, is to find a place to live in peace. More informations here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorgal [yeah, Wiki knows it all xD]
