Default Emotions vs Deduction

Oook this is an old topic, but a fairly interesting one...what kind of person are you? Do you follow your emotions and ,,go with the flow" or do you follow your deductions? Do you believe love can save the world or is the Full Control approach to life the only correct one?

As for me , i suppress my emotions. I believe that feelings such as love or kindness are a weakness. Although i know that emotions are of the same importance as reason, i'd still bet my game if i knew EXACTLY what would happen.

And of course, there's one small exception - although i supress my feelings, i have never met a more emotional person than me... i just don't like showing it, and i discard all of my emotions except the inner pain..which i sadly CAN'T.

Lol "feeling are a weakness" thats pretty hardcore.
I think people should just say what they think, like i'm doing right now, and not always calculate and deduct things.

Well in Galgalid.

I attempt to think through everything I do. My best friend, when i'm at home, is the exact opposite, doing everything spontaneously. Over time, i've taken some of his sponanuety (sp? lol) and him some of my premeditation.

As with regards to emotions, I am a quite emotional person, but as with the op I suppress most of them. That isn't working that well atm, as i'm at the start of a slightly confusing relationship.

In the words of a US General, "No battle plan survives contact with the enemy."

I may try to suppress my emotions, and handle everything with a cold cunning, but when it comes down to it, your emotions will grab you by the balls and take you along for a ride.

I'm definitely a deducer. "Emotions are weakness" is how I feel [lol] about it. I think that comes from being someone who internalizes emotion and when I have really strong feelings i.e. am very sad, I don't like to have people around me to 'comfort' me. At times like that, I feel I'm at my most vulnerable [weak] and like to cope myself.

I think my deduce, reasoning mind set is most apparent in arguments. Some people during a fight will say things they regret later, they let themselves be carried away and sad something meaner than they feel they should have. Even in my most irate state or when I'm getting impatient with someone, I can only think of one instance in my life that I said something without thinking through and choosing my words. And that was for the emotional satisfaction. .

Yay logic!

"No battle plan survives contact with the enemy."

That's so fucking true!

I'm an "emotion" person. I think that being 100% calculative most of the time is a pain in the ass. Well, yes, most likely you won't make mistakes, and mos't likely you won't get hurt, but then what is the point of living if you're gonna think through every little thing you do for the rest of your life? I don't call that living.

Actually right now I'm on a struggle in which I'm trying hard to ACT every time 100% for what I am, not worrying if I may be making mistakes, saying the wrong things, etc, and it feels amazing. I feel since I've stopped "thinking things throu before I do them" I'm so much happier and confident about myself.

Right now I'll say I'm about 80% / 20%, but my goal is to one day be 100% emotion and just have fun knowing I'm being 100% myself.

I like to think I'm emotionless but after thinking a bit I'm just cold-hearted or maybe I am unable to convey my feelings very well. Emotions tend to create biases and get in the way with my work, but for my hobby I require emotion, actually more of an understanding of emotion (My hobby is creating this novel/manga). You could say emotions are a double-edged sword really, for some people it's a hinderance but it keeps them from having a fulfilling life (well they could be happy without emotion or trying to supress their emotions) and for other people their emotions could cost them their job or decrease their efficiency but they could be happy (unless they lose their job, then their emotions cause them pain).

I'm the type that could control about 90% of my emotion and if I mentally prepare for it I could completely suppress my emotion if need be. At home or with friends I keep a slight control of my emotions about 50% and act "normally." For me though, I'm "happy" when I'm control of my emotions.

uh the emotion are weakness was a bit too hardcore for me as well, I prefer to have my emotion and go with the flow, too much control isn't good in life anyways. of course the same is true for the other way around, being to emotional can lead to a mental diruption and cause an unstability if 'overuse'. I beleive that the only time where emotion should not get in the way is for very harsh debates (court, government and all that boring stuff...)
