Story writing/typing

Hello, sorry for not coming onto the site for a life time. Wanted to ask a question though, I'm thinking of writing or typing a book or story of some sort. Could anyone give me some tips or anything? It's just I don't know were to start, any help?

well my friend today is your lucky day. You need to start with characters first, write em down and create conflicts for them. Give them depth, and then create a world for them, after the world then begin a story by just writing it. Everything is crap when you first write it down because you have not polished it. Finish first then polish it. Use index cards for your chars and then you'll have characters for years. If you like hit me on the reply and maybe we collab a couple of ideas.

To be honest I wanted to make a fan fiction for Chobits. Lol

well the first thing you shoud do is review the manga and the anime
because these are existing characters you need to get their personalities down
the next thing you need to do is get a plot going decide what where the story is
headed and any key things that will occur along the way once you have this skeleton
you can flesh it out os you work your way through the story it wil make it easier
to keep your goal in sight

Hehe, the process is similar to designing a game, write the important things down so you don't forgot and wonder off somewhere else (IE change it to four instead of five because it might look better).

For the mains of it though I'm gonna make it similar but that instead of a guy finding a girl persocom on the floor, a girl finds a boy persocom on the floor. Interesting in seeing what I can make up outa that. ;)

I will do, I have a really good imagination when it comes to romantic stuff, never made any evidence though. This is my chance! :)
