Rep Power: 255    |  Is this true..? So i started an anime: "Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu" And in that anime when you are in middle/high school in Japan and you are an anime addict. You are treated as weird.. So is this true..? And if this is true and you are in middle/high school in Japan would you still watch anime..? Well i'd still watch anime even though you are seen as weird. I may feel a bit uncomforted... but i'd still watch cause i like to watch anime. And if you like something you shouldn't stop because of other people. After all you are you and that won't change.

Rep Power: 1155  |  Yes that's true in some ways^^ But if anime really interests you.. there's no big reason to stop watching it^^.. and maybe they treat highscoolers who loves anime as wierd because not all of them really watches it and they are used to it^^

I'm almost sure that is true. Otaku has more negative connotations in Japan than they do here in the USA. It's synonymous with stalker or laziness. Again, this is what I've heard from other sources and not from my own personal experience. Always take everything with a grain of salt.

Well in Japan anime is not how we define anime to many of us it's a foriegn art form out side the parameters that our animation is bound to but to them anime is just a cartoon anime the word means cartoon and theycall anything animated anime like they call spongebob an anime. So by that reasoning some person in highschool who is obsessed by anime is no different than someone over here who is obsessed by cartoons and would be looked upon in the same way.

LOL So I guess an anime addict isn't someone who'd you'd be itching to bring home to parents? But here in US, there are lots of middle school/high school kids that sport various animated logo's Simpson's, Scooby Doo, and South Park are just a few.
