Default 200 days of sailor moon (alt.fan.sailor-moon)

Just a note to anyone who likes or liked Sailor Moon but no longer
reads afsm, we're doing a project called "200 days of sailor moon"
which is, as the name sounds, all 200 episodes of Sailor Moon, 1 per
day, until the series is done (which will be December 15). Today's
episode is 14 so it's not very far along yet; if you want to post any
thoughts about the episodes feel free.

(I started doing this because I haven't watched SM in years but
recently uncovered my old tapes and had a desire to try the series
again. It's pretty much still as enjoyable as I remember it being.)

I actually started watching Sailor Moon after the recent live-action series.
So far, I have to say that the live action wins, hands down.

Wait till you get to the last half of S. ^_^

(The first two series were admittedly designed for the grade-school
audience, but...they grew up.)

Despite that, even the original series is capable of being pretty
intense -- 45-46 are definitely one of the darkest and most violent
sequences in the whole show.

Yes, but the first two series still look too kiddie-manga and
"crayon-drawn", while R *starts* to take on a little more slick visual
polish by the second half, and S is finally up to speed with the look of
other shoujou shows--

Then it gets all loopy/stylized with SuperS and spoils the whole thing,
but that was the peak.

Working on S, now... slowly. Still not that impressed with it, even with
Haruka and Michiru in the mix. Still, Usagi's starting to act less like a
goober (and Minako is taking her place). I don't think the anime will
replace the live action in my book. Yeah, I know it was first, but PGSM
rather hit the spot for me.

I have a feeling that if you've watched *that* much of the show and
still aren't really into it that the show just isn't for you.

Yeah, but still not as jailbait as PGSM. ;p

Wake me up when you get to episode 45...

I would have commented on ep.8 but sounds like I missed that.
