Default I see I'm not the only one who thinks ADV's "new partner" is

A former Newtype staffer on AnimeonDVD.com believes similarly.

Couple of things, since I know some of them read the group:

"Starcade" over there = "Darkstar7646" here = me.

But that person is NOT the former Newtype staffer -- if you are also
reading this, drop me an e-mail. I don't believe what they're selling
either and the move makes no sense, short of a corporate suicide for
both companies.

Default And the plot continues to thicken:

But, before I address what has to be one of the most interesting
slipped-in rumor comments I've ever heard on the Internet, let's take
care of something...

The original comment I made about the "new investor" being bullshit --
in my Day 2 review -- was not made with any of the Newtype person's
statements in mind. The move makes no material sense for any
prospective new investor...

.... especially with rumors that ADV might be in a criminal
investigation in Houston.

Another person with claims to knowledge of events at ADV (though how
recent is unknown) was discussing with the former Newtype worker about
how ADV was not to be trusted (nor anything Ledford or the like said
at AX), and slipped in, as one of the anecdotal "writing on the wall"
moments: If the rumor is correct, the sheriff's department in Houston
was sent to ADV Films to seize documents and property (and filmed the
seizure), and ADV employees were met with that reality.

People are awaiting (and had better receive!) more information on that
end.

This reeks criminal investigation for criminal fraud -- probably in no
small part with Sojitz/ARM and the like.

ADV must die with the highest of prejudice if this is true. More and
more, I begin to wonder if, knowing they are sunk, they're planning on
taking out the rest of the industry with it...
