| For myself: Net Ghost PiPoPa - the story of a Magical Girl who happens to be a guy. I like this series because it has human characters - they're flawed, but work through it. Not subbed. For young children. Haruka's Secret - I don't really like this show, but I watch it for the cognitive dissonance. ("Why is he escorting the transfer student home and not the girl who is here with her family?", they ask.) ToLoveRu - Ataru Moroboshi grew accustomed to random attacks on his life; Yuuki Rito is developing panic disorder. In most anime, the hero gets stronger, but Rito has only gotten steadily weaker and more pathetic. He needs to die, preferably in some heroic way. Sasami's Magical Girl Club - recently released on R1 DVD. Magical Taruruto-kun - Recently released on R2 DVD. A 5th grade boy gets a pre-school age genie who grants wishes as best he can understand them. Comedy, coming of age, for children. Not subbed. Recurring theme of "be careful what you wish for". Di Gi Charact ~Nyo - in release on R1 DVD from Bandai. Degiko has been banished from her world until she becomes a princess. Puchiko and Gema accompany her on her picaresque adventures. Kaito Tenshi Twin Angel (R2 OAV) - Arrogant magical girls get crushed by a powerful opponent. And the moral is: "Play with the big boys, and you're gonna get raped." Although it's not hentai. Hidamari Sketch x365 - I don't know why I like this, I just do. Nyatsume Yuujinchou - Boy meets cat. Solid story-telling, meaningful characters. Birdy the Mighty Decode - If the Federation can't do better than Birdy for important assignments, it is surely doomed. Then again, the federation may want the Ryunka awakened. I can't recommend this, but I keep hoping it will get better. -Galen |

Except for Dolphin Girl, who finally becomes a character in episode 19 when the Dream Future server gets broken and then nuked. It is not adolescent humor, and adult supervision of our child-protagonists is prominent, if flawed. Drama, not melodrama, and comedy mostly in the parody-cliche sense. For example, in one episode our hero gets framed by a girl in the class who has long tormented him; so, he gets 2 cans of Gender Bender from Taruruto, changes her into a guy, himself into a girl, and plays the same gender-discrimination card against "him", while posing as a girl. Then, while waiting for the brew to wear off, he gets closer to his girlfriend as a girl, seeing a different side of her. This series was released in 3 box sets, and I'm halfway through the 2nd one.[color=blue] >[color=green] >> Di Gi Charact ~Nyo - in release on R1 DVD from Bandai. >> Degiko has been banished from her world until she becomes >> a princess. Then maybe if FJG isn't here soon I will start watching Hakkenden again, the Genshiken or one or more of a few other series I have bought and paid for. The closing of the local rental shop I used for 5 years really slowed me down as far as new series go. The removal of the Asian channels that played anime was not good for me but worst of all is the inflation in food costs due to the increase in the cost fuel. later bliss -- C O C O A Powered... | Let's see Shugo Chara! - Being released in R2 DVD. Fifth grader Amu Hinamori is known by her peers as being a "cool and spicy" girl. However, Amu is actually shy, stubborn, and a little cynical. However when she wishes to change herself, she finds three brightly colorful eggs in her bed, which hatch into three Guardian Characters: Ran, Miki, and Su. It has been a while since enjoyed a good magical girls show. And while it has its overly sweet moments and clichés, there is the exploration of a person's character that makes it more than your standard kiddy fair. Not sure if this will be a sure fire hit if it is license. But I'm hoping that it will do well. xxxHolic Kei - It's actually been a while since I last watched it and I really do need to finish the series. I have also been watching the R1 DVD releases of the first series with great enjoyment. Mushi-shi - A hold over from last year. (I was introduced to it at Tsubasacon.) The problem I've been running into is that the local FYEs haven't stalled more then the first and fourth volume. Legend of Galactic Heroes - I'm seeing this series for the first time. So far, I've only seen the first 4 episodes. I'm having to get use to an older style of animation and storytelling technique, which is a bit jarring and haphazard in how it switches back and forth. Many times I fee like I'm missing something while watching what is going on. Not much else beyond what is on Cartoon Network. Nothing really impressed me with the summer lineup for me to even bother sampling. I did see the first four episodes of Soul Eater and liked it so much, I stopped watching. I know that sounds puzzling. However, the reason I stopped watching is because I'm waiting till it is licensed in the R1 market. Then I an fully enjoy it . . . IN ENGLISH!! AT MAXIMUM ENJOYMENT LEVELS!! Farix |

I have the entire 200 episodes three seasons of which I have purchased. I decided to watch them all since I paid for almost all of them. I like magic girls and also Japanese Horror Movies. |
