Death Note Ending!! <<

wow Tristelune you put a lot of thought into that lol...i wonder if i woulda liked M and N a little better if they weren't following L...u r right L is a huge character to have to replace

and i also never gave any thought to Light giving up the death note...tho i doubt he would especially since he thought he was going to defeat M and not the reverse...now makes me wonder what Light would be like if he didn't have all that power...he'd prolly still be a cocky bastard either way =P

after loosing lights memories he and L worked together to capture kira so they developed a friendly relationship and light saw the importance to kill kira from Ls viewpoint,so i thought of the possibility that after regaining his memories he might change his mind. but he didnt.though killing is bad.but society or law punishes big criminals proven guilty(sometimes innocents proven guilty) by killing,poisoning,electrifying,hanging etc.here though men are killing men as punishment but that does not seem improper to us.but light killing criminals seemed improper to some people.although he overdid it and killed innocent people even dangered his own family for it.but i wander which was more important to him becoming god or creating a world without crime.
anyways my opinion is,the leaders of a society were given the authority to punish anyone breaks the law by GOD a long time ago.so its ok for them but its not ok for kira.he was a proven mass murderer according men/leaders of law (L or near+mello) so he was a criminal worthy of getting pretty horrible punishment.but i like light.he is one of the most awesome anti hero of anime history.
i was heartbroken for Ls sudden death though.

I thought the ending was to conventional as well. I figured Light couldn't end up as the ruler of the world in the end, but to have him lose at that point felt like the whole series was wasted on nothing. Also, if they were going to have Light end like that it should have been 12 episodes earlier to the original L.

The best ending for both sides would have been Light finally realizing what the book had done to him and those around him and just give it up. I really felt like the series was moving toward that after he couldn't write his sisters name down, but then they went away from it. I still felt as the main character Light's story would have been better to end on a self righteous note. He had become tainted by evil and the end he would realize and overcome it. I hated how they instead took the main character who had out smarted everyone around him for so long and just killed him. It was like oops he made a mistake, dead. The Light I saw throughout the series would have planned on that ending being possible and wrote down everyones names himself ahead of time. Light knew all his staff members name and Near even said he expected Kira knew all his staff members.

I was waiting for everyone except Light and Near to fall over dead and then get this stand off between the last 2 living people to know about the book. I would have even settled for an ending where Near writes down Light's name and then turns giving everyone else this evil look before the credits role as if to suggest the book my have tainted him as well.

All in all I thought an ending where they just have Light lose outright and kill him would be lame, and that is what they went with.

light didnt care about his family from the start.i dont think he would let his sister live if his plan failed.like the time he used his father.his acting when his father was dying was really impressive.he was desperate to know mellos name.

he had lots of opportunity but didnt use it like b4.and also let other people use it was not like him.his downfall was for he depended on others to do his work to much.he made things complicated himself.

Very well said. But I liked Light. The way Death Note showed you how everyone thinks and how they act on their thoughts was the best part to me, because how deeply thought out it was and how you think about their situation aswell.

I love this anime and was only a little sad by the end ,not cause light died but cause i felt like it needed a little more suspense,i was like "man that brat cant have won that easy ,L was better than him !" even if Near had help from his brother ,but still if the anime was dragged any more it would lose its appeal so im happy it ended as it did.Light was like a japanese hannibal (without being cannibal , mean the cunning and evil part) and L is totally awesome even if he did creep me out on how he looked and his sugar obsession (he has got to have diabetes ) but he is by far one of the best HEROES of anime ever ,if he knew about the death gods sooner and about the memory loss when one stops being the owner of the note he probably would have won the fight against light and not have died.

yes it is sad how he died and his replacements were not that appealing to me but they got the job done!

They shouldve ended it after Light kills L. The Near saga is simply propostrous.

Agreed. it wouldn't be so bad if they ended it with Light winning against L but the series with Light up against Near was to extend the death note series longer.
