L owns the DeathNote!

Hello Everyone^^ Surprised by the Title? I don't know if there's been a topic like this but I just wanna try. actually what I mean is:
What if L was given the DeathNote instead of Yagami Light, do you think L will use it like Light did? We all know that L fights for justice like Light and they are both excellent detectives.

This topic will determine wheter you trust L and wheter you know much about him or something related.

I personally think it would have eroded him on some level at least. His reaction to mention of a shinigami was one of sheer terror {and it led to a stalling in his detective prowess lasting many weeks), even if he did start to write names down it would make him one of those types of people that he had professionally fought for many years prior. I think his only viable option would be to put his own name in there and rid the world of a potential "killer/Kira" in the bud.

personally i believe L would have gone the same path as Light Yagami did ..xD..

I think he would have bothered the shinigami with so many questions that the shinigami would have killed him. other than that it would depend on when he found it, if it was when he was younger before he was established as L than yes i believe he would, if it is later after he has already become a success than the notebook would have no real use to him. At the time he had solved every case he had took on, so what good does a notebook do him. I believe he would destroyed it

Nice post, your pretty much right ... or at least have the same opinion as me.
It defiantly would of gotten to him, without a doubt. You also have to remember that the Deathnote has that power to make anybody curious and want to try it at least once, no matter what their situation is in the Human world.

Since everybody has been saying he would do the same as Light-kun, i might as well add a different opinion as usual.

Maybe if L did manage to get hold of the Deathnote, he obviously would want to try it out. However due to his position, he could alert everybody about it (Lets just say the police force for an example) In which case he would be able to get it tested and have his urge satisfied on a legal basis and then investigated afterwards.

On the other hand he might just get locked up for being insane, but he could easily make any of them touch the Deathnote in order to prove it. XD

L could not care LESS about justice actually...all he wants is the challenge.Said so himself.

I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
