Yeah the whole "L Lawliet being his real name" thing is true because it was revealed in the 13th volume of the manga...how could you not believe that XD...but what the person before me said about his first name "L" just being a shorter version or something for a longer name could be true....

Besides in the anime they each had an alias or "nickname", if you will, that had the same letter as the first letter in their first name...

L: L Lawliet XD
W: Watari
N: Near

and so on XD...
