I never watched the movie, but I really hated the ending of the series. I felt like I had wasted my time by watching it. Other than the ending, I really enjoyed the series.

Change the World, like all movies with enough fanbase should eventually get subbed...or at least manage a fansub.

Gah.. spoiler warning please.. I didn't know you guys would talk about the movie T.T Oh well, I didn't really have any plans to watch it in the near future anyway.

As for Lights death, I liked it. He got shot by the right person and as much as all of you seemed to think it was out of character it was pretty psychologically well thought out. I mean, he did kill thousands of people, some including innocents that just got in his way, then he progressed to calling himself a god. The underlying insanity was totally there to show up in the final episode. Kudos to the writers.

I agree with Jesster. At first I thought it was out of character, but then I got thinking about how insane Light really was. And yeah, it did fit. He'd been found out, so he panicked and his farcade slipped and he was revealed in all his insanity.

I've only read the manga, but I have to say that it does kind of suck that he died in the end, but at the same time, no one is supposed to take over the world in that way.

i stopped in the middle of the series to let the series finish so incase something happens i don't have to wait for the release and i wait and wait till the time comes to watch it, after L went the series went down hill from there, esp. the ending. Well looks like its my turn to take care of Misa-chan. XD
