Rep Power: 0 ![]() | x character fighting and getting his arse kicked. but he keeps standing up thinking or remembering stuff like how he promise this person to be strong and he can't give up. it's like, it freaking doesn't matter if you nuke him with a hydrogene bomb or smash his head with a gigantic hammer... all he have to do remembering what he have been through with flashbacks, (and his opponent idiotically let him to do this instead of finishing him) saying somethin like "i don't give up easily", and standing up again. or y character fighting and getting his arse kicked. he shouldn't be able to stand up again you are saying to yourself. but oh noes! one of his friends cheers for him saying something like "come on, y! do your best! i believe in you!" with a freakish facial expression and bam! power of "friedly love" in effect. y stands up one more time and starts beating his opponent real badly (and before that cheer he couldn't even touch him) 1. i have to do therefore i will win. 2. people loves me so i'm invincible. 3. i'm insulted and i'm pissed off (it's a habit of mine to wait till i'm insulted to beat someone) therefore i will win. is all anime (storywriting) based on this logic? |

| Animea's Mad Scientist ![]() | Well agreed,i have seen many anime which similar/same storyline... and it is getting on my nerves a bit. No storywriteing isnt based on it,it's just that it's popular and has a best effect on audiences. (reminds me of matrix trilogy,x vs y,x kicks and beats up y,y stands up shake's it off and does the same to x,they do that around 10x and go off unharmed, lol)

I have also noticed the happening of the "dragonball syndrome" in long time action anime/manga serie where the characters start up being weak but still managing somehow in the fights, but in the end they all end up gaining super powers and the fights turn out into several episodes where they just remember their past if it's their friend who is fighting, about their ideals and etc, and neither one of the fighters seem to fall down even after their super-mega-mumbo-jumbo-hyper-omega-drive-attack but end up into the ground by a single a punch aided with a super dramatic action zooming

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | It is true that there are shows with this theme, of course would you be interested in manga or anime that the hero had no problems defeating the protagonists? It would get old just as fast if the hero won without difficulty. There has to be some kind of balance. |

Jeah, an anime where bad > good would be beter for me than bad = good or bad < good.

um, while i am at it... does japanese people keep repeating each others names as in anime shows i was wondering... *** x character getting his arse kicked. y,z,q and all the others, one after another, says: x-chan! with a freakish facial expression. <- i think this and never-ending naniiiiis all there as fillers. show 5 people amazed or scared or worried about x, saying x-chan! and you've filled 4/1 of your 25min anime, then there will be flashbacks so i keep watching the same thing... cheap. | |

| ~Shinmei-ryū Swordmaster~ ![]() | those types of plots do commonly occur in many anime series but it is one type of storyflow that makes a series stand out in a way.

Most anime with 1 vs 1 combat seems to fit the mold your talkin about more often than not. Anime that is based on the combat more the the plot gets really old really quick.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | It's all part of classic Hollywood narrative, it's something that nearly every film follows and the same is said for most anime. If it's a single battle or a multi-episode spanning one. Normality Disruption Attemped Resolution (Which always usually leads to failue) Resolution Revised Normality Normality and Revised Normality can usually be missed out though in anime after the first episode or a couple, revised normality will come at the end, if things like Bleach or Naruto even decide to end. It's true though that some deviate from that though, but they tend to be more artsy productions. Elfen Lied conformed to it missing normality, and took everything else you could possably predict.
