Anime is not real. Plain and simple; you cannot justify your arguments any simpler than but of a phrase with which I have stated... Loli is young anime girls.... tell me where in real life you are going to find real girls or real ANYTHING with anime qualities that are good enough to pass. Fact is you can like one but hate the other, I think pedophiles are sick and wrong, it's immoral to violate such an innocent and naive being, anime however is entirely different; if you'll take the time to notice, the circumstances which bring those young anime girls to do what they do is exaggerated far beyond anything you will EVER see irl. Myself being a loli I know it may seem like I'm one-sided however I know why ppl consider it pedophilia however rest assure, the REAL THING is sick and disgusting, and you shouldn't let one bad apple spoil the bunch just because some otaku took it too far with their obsession for anime.

Actually, most lolicon and other pornography related sites say adults only because they're trying to protect kids like YOU from the material.

Just like the age of consent laws are to protect you from sex, those "you must be 18 or older to look" are to protect you from pornography.

Regardless of you saying you're able to consent to looking at lolicon, the system says this is impossible. How do you feel about that?

lolicon actualy does not only refer to anime. to the japanese it basicaly means pedophile. loli comes from lolita. lolita was a novel/movie about a man who has an affair with his 12 year old step daughter. tho lolicon as a counterculture is usualy only refering to young girls in anime.

i say lolicon as it refers to anime/manga is for the most part harmless.

Actually, I think Roulette has touched upon one of the great moral debates of all time. Not about whether artifically-created images of pedophiliac material is okay, that's relatively recent.

It's about the distinction between dangerous and harmful, fantasy and reality. Some (very few) people will look at loli and find themselves stuck on the path to full out lurking-by-the-schoolyard pedophilia. That's why this material is generally restricted from minors as most of them don't have the tools to avoid that, to seperate fiction from reality.

EVERY human being has some fantasy or desire that is forbidden by moral code, social taboos, whatever. As sentient beings we have the ability to suppress these desires. We can also choose how we interpret the world we perceive, to imagine that a safe and harmless activity (having sex with a trusted partner, for example) is instead that forbidden fantasy. That's called roleplaying. Almost all adults do it at some point and most psychologists agree that it's perfectly normal and quite healthy, unless taken to extremes.

As for drawing or writing my own loli stuff, I'd have no problem with that, except I have no artistic talent, whatsoever. I know I'd be drawing from imagination and exaggerating reality, rather than basing it off a live model, and I trust that the artists whose works I sample are doing the same thing (working purely from imagination).

To summarize: ideals are not actions. Thoughts and beliefs can only be harmful when you act upon them, and that requires a conscious choice.

I'm quite confident that I can look at loli one day, visit my underage niece the next, and NEVER confuse the two. I'll never look at a child as a sexual object, and I'll beat the **** out of anybody I catch doing it.
