| ♥ « taking a break » ♥ ![]() | Please read! In efforts to eliminate a posts with one liners, or just a couple of words, please tell us: What is your favorite Anime film? What's it about? Why do you like it? Mine is Akira In 1988, Tokyo is destroyed by an apparent nuclear explosion that leads to the start of World War III. Thirty-one years later, Neo Tokyo, a new megalopolis built on an artificial island in Tokyo Bay, is gripped by political strife, anti-government terrorism, and gang violence. The film explores a number of psychological and philosophical themes, such as the nature of corruption, the will to power, and the growth from childhood to maturity both in individuals and the human race itself. Elements of Buddhist symbolism are also present in the film. Notable themes in the film include youth culture, cyberpunk, delinquency, psychic awareness, social unrest, the world's reaction toward a nuclear holocaust and Japan's post-war economic revival. If you wanna know more, wikipedia it. :P It's my favorite anime film of all time because of the experience I had while watching it. I think I had an aneurysm of sheer epicness. I love the action, the interaction between the characters. I loved Tetsuo, and Kaneda. I was not bored at any moment, and the soundtrack was haunting and appropriate. I can't really tell you why it intrigued me so much, but I remember being in a daze afterwards, pondering many of the themes portrayed in the film. It's just typically my style: violence, corruption, youth passion, and cigarettes. ;P

OK! for me it's FMA Conqueror of Shambala, just because it worked so well with the series and i'm a big FMA fan. But it's a hard decision because I don't know that I think FMA was the best one, it's just one of my favorite series so that's probably why I picked it. Umm ok it's about two boys edward elric and alphonse elric who are live in two different dimensions. Edward ended up in this other dimension when he tried to bring his brother back to life, in the end he succeeded but his brother had no memory of the past 4 years they had spent together. In the world Edward is in alchemy doesn't work but thanks to an ancient order that practiced a science similar to alchemy in the past they are trying to connect to the world alphonse is in. This leads to a war. Great movie, great series.

well, for me it´s Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children Two years after the events in "Final Fantasy VII", a disease called 'Seikon-Shoukougun', or 'Geostigma', is spreading through the planet. This disease is believed to have been caused by the body fighting off foreign material that invaded the body two years earlier, at the end of "Final Fantasy VII". Guilt-ridden and haunted by his past, ex-SOLDIER Cloud Strife has decided to live a secluded, solitary life away from his friends while maintaining "Strife's Delivery Service", whose headquarters is located in Tifa Lockheart's bar, the Seventh Heaven. Tifa's bar serves as an orphanage for children stricken with Geostigma. Here, Tifa keeps an eye on Barret's six-year-old daughter, Marlene, while Barret searches the planet for an alternative energy source to the Planet's energy, Mako. One day, Cloud receives a phone call from the former Shinra, Inc. president, Rufus, asking him for protection from a mysterious man named Kadaj. Kadaj, in the meantime, along with his brothers Loz and Yazoo, are searching for their "mother", and seem to believe that Cloud knows where to find her. Meanwhile, Vincent Valentine has been wandering the planet gathering information on Kadaj's scheme, and Cloud and his friends must come together again to fight these new enemies. The story is great, the characters are awesome and the best of it : it´s a Final Fantasy movie!! (do I really have to say more?) Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children was my 1st anime movie I´ve watched in B-R (still my only one tbh...) If you still haven´t watched this movie, you really should! Princess Mononoke is also my favorite movie. The time: when animals were gods. plot: Ashitaka is cursed so he travels to the east in hopes of learning the source of his curse even though it cannot be uplifted. There he meets a feral princess and an iron town who is trying to fend off the king's samurai and the weakening gods. theme: balance between nature and progress bad summary. I love this movie because the music is great as expected. I love the color scheme and mood. I love the characters. the way the characters run and the trees sway. I just really like this movie.

5 cm per second The movie is cut into 3 episodes revolving around a boy named Takaki Tono. It talks about his love stories and his love interests...especially a girl named Akari. At a young age they befriend each other only later to be separated when Akari has to move. They try desperately to communicate and end up meeting together at the same railroad they would always pass by going or leaving school. As time progresses though, they lose contact. Years later they meet again at the railway and they turn back but Akari leaves while Takaki stays....they end up going separate paths and he walks off smiling. I loved it because it was beautifully written and gave a realistic ending...you know not one of those endings where love will always prevail...because it won't. The art and graphics were amazing and it had a good solid plot line to me.

For me, mine would have to be Bleach: Fade to Black, I Call Your Name. It is about well, Bleach the series, but theres a new enemy of the Soul Society. One where everyone in the Soul Society is struck with amesia and forgets about Ichigo and Rukia. When Ichigo comes to the Soul Society, he is outcasted and claimed as an intruder. Rukia hasnt only forgotten about Ichigo and everyone else in the Soul Society, but has even forgotten her own identity. Rukia wakes up part way through the movie in a cabin in the 78th District, where she and Renji Abarai grew up as kids, finding two siblings by her side calling her name with joy. When Rukia asks for their names, they reply saying that Rukia promised to give them their names before she enrolled at Shinigami school. But Rukia cant remember ever taking care of two siblings, so she asked what she has been doing all this time, the two siblings replied that she has been sleeping for a very long time. The reason I liked this movie was because that it was interesting, had good development throughout the whole movie, and everything was played out awesomely. If i had to rate this, I would rate it a 9/10.

As a fan of Hitchcock I have to add Perfect Blue to my favourite List automatically. It centres on the stalking of a J-Pop singer and her efforts to outwit said stalker. What I liked about it was the whole 'who did it?' and 'How is she going to prevent it?" aspect, I generally love a good 'cat and mouse' storyline. The animation quality is first rate throughout the film. The soundtrack is excellent too. Even after a decade it still 'holds up' well today.
