I just finished download all Gankutsuou episodes. Stunning, very impressive anime. The character, setting, art, combining Japanese and French.. It's really different from any other anime.

I wonder is there any other anime similar to this one?

Which one Bro? Gankutsuou or Monster? Gankutsuou is a romantic anime and Monster, I guess little bit horror. Try it Bro..

click on the links anyway some time people report them as being dead by accident and then they just appear to be dead when ever anyone looks at them

I just finished watching Gankutsuou myself and I have to agree, it was stunning. I really loved the unique set pieces and costumes especially; Gonzo's always so clever with their animation, but I think this time they really outdid themselves. And it stays pretty true to the spirit of the original story too (though of course, the plot and characters change rather drastically in some areas). Still, loved it.

As for similar anime, I know this is going to sound cliche, but I actually think Le Chevalier D'eon would be a good choice. I haven't finished watching it myself, and it is more of a mystery/thriller than a drama/romance like Gankutsuou, but there's a bit of suspense, a bit of the supernatural and the affectations of French society are there too, adding extra spice. I can't think of any others at the moment; sorry! ^^;

Seriously under appreciated, and under watched anime. Was introduced to it by a good friend of mine. The animation style threw me off to start with, but I soon learned to live with it, and am glad I did. It's rare to get an anime with so much depth.

Yeah, Gankutsuou is different than other anime. It's so difficult to find such kind of adult and romantic drama like this one.
