I'd say early 90's. Akira was my first experience with anime.

probably started first when pokemon came out, but back then, it was just a "oh, pokemons on tv" kinda deal. i just thought it was a "cartoon." now older in realizing that, i say i would have started i think january of this year? the first "official" anime i watched was Maburaho and my anime watching has expanded since.
