I'm addicted to anime :O

I never really liked anime until I found haruhi. That show got me hooked! Then I watched toradora and now I'm addicted >.<!

I used to think anime was just cartoon people killing each other. Know I know some have amazing storys!

hhmm. . . well i started to play stepmania and i was playing anime op/ed and thought they sounded pretty catchy. so i felt like watching one of the shows that a song came from, and the first anime that i ever watched (fully) was Azumanga Daioh and that got me hooked.

Well, I used to like anime from when I was a kid (before I even knew it was anime) Sailor Moon, Pokémon and Dragonball Z were my favourite shows on TV.

I read a series of books called Broken Sky (also before I knew what anime was) and I enjoyed them so much more than any other book I'd read. Turns out the book took a lot of influence from anime.

So I guess I've always liked anime, but once I got older and found out that anime was a certain type of cartoon I began to specifically look for it to watch. No where sold the DVDs and there wasn't much on TV so I didn't watch that much.

Then, about 4 years ago or so when the internet became easily accessible in my area, I discovered I could get anime free online. I've been hooked ever since ^^

been watching Anime for over 30+ years.. if not longer than that.. Speed Racer or Mach A Go Go and Kimba the White Lion is what I remember back when i was 5 or 6 years old.

as bobo i like anime from my childhood. Animes were always cooler than cartons!

Sailor Moon > Tom and Jerry
Pokemon > Bugs Bunny
Dragonball > Ghost Busters
Ranma 1/2 > Simpsons

"Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne" was really good in this time and the kiss on the roof with her rival was the best ;-)

But im real addicted since 2001 in germany there was a magazine called Banzai which aired each month! and the mangas in there were the best:

Naruto, Shaman King, Hunter x Hunter, DNA ² - so im really into anime since that time and hope for the rest of my life!

In my case it was a slow infection, from being aware that 'not all cartoons come from the US or UK' when I was a kid. Then came an 'awareness' of it in my younger days, and exposure to the 'Sunday morning mecha' anime at friends places. To a deeper affliction by watching some of the films and tv series in my 20s, until now where my condition has worsened to oughright addiction.

lol your stories are funny. I never really liked cartoons. I was such a serious & straightforward kid. I went to private church academy where only straight A kids were recognized. I once got detention for not being able to recite my alphabet backwards when I was 5. When I protested, I was paddled & given a dunce hat for being stupid & rebellious ...seriously it's true
A few years ago, we had to stay at a local shelter during a category 4 hurricane. We were in a room of other single mom's. and one of them brought some anime DVD's. I was so outraged that I called the security guard to confiscate these deplorable videos which were obviously gonna cause my kids to turn into delinquents. My kids were soooo embarrassed at the ruckus.

Anyways over the next 48hrs while we were stranded there, my kids & a dad of one of the othre kids convinced me to watch just one innocent episode of Naruto. I thought "oh that's the one my kids keep asking to watch on Saturdays" So, I watched. And kept watching. When we left the next day I went & bought the box set. LOL

Now my kids regret ever introducing me to it ;}

well I did watch all kinds of anime that was aired on TV when I was a kid, but really got addicted only after i watched Full Metal Alchemist and in those happy days(about 4 years ago) I watched anime, all kinds of anime so many hours a day that even sleeping was postponed...
now in 4 years time I have watched more than 250 different anime titles and it is still as good, the story line and the art of it just gets better...

as far as my memory's concern...the first anime that i watch is Yaiba umm i think he's a typical kendo kiddo...and then i watch sailor moon which im so hooked up until they cut the airing in tv which makes me sad T_T...then here come Super Boink..that ones really cute a pretty gurl who will transform into a pig to save the city*which is odd on the first place since most of super heroes change costume or appearance into a beautiful or handsome hunk/gurl but shes a pig* then the Ranma 1/2 fever invade the tv and really makes me laugh and sad thing again it stopped airing too....then the Ghost Fighter mania reigns..... and it becomes a big hit in philippines that until now it still resurrecting in TV....then DBZ comes which is really a great anime...the only long anime series that i ever watched!! but the fever or invasion of anime begins on 2000..where 1 week anime is a damn good thing for me...like hell teacher nube,trigun,bubble gum crissis tokyo 2040,master of mosquiton,vision of escaflowne,pokemon,digimon,virtua fighter,monster rancher,fushigi yuugi, and many many more......then starting that year i become so much addicted that i even collect song and lyrics of it and super posters of my fave anime....up until now at my age *20 ehem!!* im still a child in my heart that i cant let go of it...
I AM PROUD TO BE ANIME ADDICT!!!!
