Robotech vs Macross

Ok, i have been wondering about this for a while. Is Robotech a name develop to air Macross in the US? Or is Robotech some other anime show? help me out here

The answer is both yes and no. Robotech took scenes from three animes The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Genesis Climber Mospeada, and The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross. In the process it really became junk. I wouldn't recommend watching it. Stick with Macross and see the original.

Wat about the recent robotech movie? I believe it was called Robotech: The shadow chronicles. IS the movie purely made by Americans or is it another butcher edited collection of other shows from japan?

I wouldnt watch the american version, becouse the dialogs are totally different and the whole meaning of original is thrown out...

I'm an american but I agree, they butcher almost any series when they try to convert it to air over here, thats why I like to get the stuff thats subbed ;D

though fansubs are much better than regular subs provided by either axis of evil (funimation, ADV, yadayadayada). I just hope these companies starts using fansubs cause it would be very helpful for everyone

I agree linkzero, fan subs normally don't edit nothing and they could save alot of money since 90% of all anime is sub'd by fans any how, sorry about that I meant fan subs is what I get to watch
