Torment & Calamity
Time: Far future, year unknown.

The world is bathed in darkness, children die on the footsteps of what little they can call a home, people wonder only to get killed in their daze of insanity.

This world; or if you can call it that is dark. Only enough light is let through to keep the people alive, and even the gods mock them with such little hope and keeping them alive through their torment.

No one is alive that can tell you the story of the calamity that has befallen the people. No that is a gods story to tell. The only thing these people know of their pathetic lives is hatred, loneliness, and the Dark.

The Dark. Something of a nightmare to keep the gods amused in their games of life and death within there deathtrap that effects only others and not themselves. Beasts and demons that come from the souls of others; through their torment and calamity are born these monstrosity's of nature. There is no good, only evil within their black tumors they call a heart. They destroy people mutilating them for their organs, especially children for they taste most delicious to their teeth. Their are many forms of them, hounds, Black feathered angles, and many more of which no one has seen, or at least lived to tell about it.

So where is the hope? Where are the heroes? Where is justice? Well hope is dead, as are the heroes, and justice is through death. Oh, but do not threat there may be a slim hope; after all there are the Witchers, strong and mighty able to drink potions that would other wise kill a normal man, They wield two swords but never both at the same time, one is silver which is said to be for demons, and the other is iron which is said to be for man. Although this is not true for some demons are weak against iron. There are to few for a real hope as many have died just after the calamity. There are also the Sorcerers with their magic that is able to wipe out thousands, but alas they are to few and to proud to help those of lower blood. Lastly their are the normals. The no ones. They can bring the light back from the gods who have tormented them with there game, but they can get out. Oh and lest not forget about the ones who are one of the most important people within the game of the gods, the Namers. The rarest of humans, only a few hundred with the millions. They know the names of all things, or are learning. They know the ever changing name of rock, fire, wind, water, and more. They can turn the tides with a single whisper of a word and forever change history.

In the Dark there are Angels, although not as blood thirsty as their brothering they kill for a purpose. They are most likely the most intelligent being in the world, although they care little for magic other then to protect them selves with it, but do to their experimentation they have discovered how to regrow their limbs. Their looks very from angel to angel, just as humans very from one another, but their is two things that all angels have in common: their black wings and swords with the hilt made from their bone. Their wings so dark and so beautiful, they are dark as the night that comes to the world after the bleak day. Their swords are their lives just like the Witcher, although they may use any other weapon they please the sword is the most used among them. When a angel dies they turn to ash. The Hounds, Evil demons from hell. They can call upon dark spirits to kill others or help them with casting a spell. Their eyes are pure glowing red, but it is said they are born with white and slowly as they kill more and more their eyes become the color they see most. Blood. When they summon the spirits they have to pay a price, either with their blood or that of someone else's. Although the sprites will not kill for the price after their job is done it is still painful to the sacrifice and they would wish they where dead. Locusts, they look like normal humans, and many say they were once human but their speed, reflex, and strength is matched by no one. They kill only for pleasure and taste of blood. Although they are not stupid they hunt alone. As they do not like company with them and they only breed once in two years. They are also have weakness to magic, as that seems to be the only things that can harm them other then the silver sword of a Witcher.


Who will you choose? The few who can help? or the many who can change the way of the game? The choice is yours.

Races:

Humans:

pros: Able to hold a gun, may be able to become a leader.

cons: there human, and can give in easily to fear and insanity.


Witchers:

Pros: Have in-human reflexes, and even better ones if they drink their potions. Also can see in the dark better then most through the control of their pupiles, and can see clearly with their potions. If potion is drunk, he or she may gain the speed to block a bullet. A bullet. Their regeneration is faster then a humans, but dont expect wolverine.

Cons: There are to few and they rely on sword and bow to defeat the demons. Can only wear leather and light clothing. Potions take a lot out of them; they must rest for a few hours, preferably a day.

Sorcerers:
Pros: Magic. Can wipe out many enemys at once. Smart and intellectual.

Cons: Easy to kill once up close, takes time and concentration to cast each spell. Can also only wear light clothing and wield a staff and dagger.

Namers:
Pros: It says above^

Cons: Oh so few, so little. They suffer from insanity as a price of their power, and can only say the name of an object but only once a day. Can never truly master a weapon or armour.

Evil side:

Angels:
Pros: Can fly and are the masters of swords, their agility and intelligence match that of a Witcher. They are also able to cast spells of protection through chanting, although not very powerful the spells are effective allowing the Angel to keep fighting soon after the spell is cast. They have a 6th sense to know if there is anyone around them for a short distance, although the power varies from Angel to Angel.

Cons: Eye sight is poor, and their bodies are not known for endurance; easily wounded. They are also not fast healers.

Hounds:
Pros: Can summon demons on a whim, possess incredible speed. Proficient in spell casting.

Cons: Can't wield weapons or armour, there reflexes also only match that of a human.

Locusts:
Pros: Incredible speed that is faster then the hound, reflexes are sharper then that of the Witcher, proficient in all weapons and armour, skin is also tough.

Cons: Has no magical abilities.

Side Notes: *recommended to read*

Potions are rare to buy and therefore must be made in order to be assured that one has enough.

Just because your not a demon from the Dark doesn't mean you can't kill, in fact you can kill for money if the need be.

Don't bother to try and ambush a Witcher in complete darkness, as many have tried and all have failed.

Witchers used to be human as were the Sorcerers but they are long beyond that period.

Namers can use any weapon they wish. They are also not limited to armour.

Humans, well they are a general class and can use any weapon and armour. Although they can be a master at any weapon.

To small to be a city, also known as villages. There are many scattered throughout the land, and you will come by many during your travels.

GOD's

Blood thirsty and tyrants, no one knows their name. There is proof however of their existance. As they have come down to bask in the light of blood and fire. To breath in decay and smoke. There are old recordings of them, coming down from the sky in a light of red and killing thousands before the tapes end. These tapes were after Calamity.

ya i will make a character creation thread. I was just tired when i made this thread as it was around 12:30am when i decided to type it up. I also plan on adding other races to the story. More for the Evil side.

Cities:

Kain: City of the dead, near the Dark and has been known to see zombie like creatures near its area.
Yes there are people living in it, as it also happens to be near a clean under ground water source.

King: Wrail (Rail) Personality: Angry and Controlling. Looks: Menacing, a workers face. Has a beard, black hair, blue eyes. Mid 30's.
Queen: Jane Personality: Kind and Quite. Looks: Nice, slender, blond hair, green eyes. early 20's

NO SONS/DAUGHTERS


Lust: The city is filled with the sick, the poor, or the rich. The rich live in walls in the center of the circular city of 20ft thick.
King: Ursah (Your-Saw-Ah) Personality: Nice, but not someone who gives trust easily. Looks: Old, Kind, Gray Hair, No Beard. Brown Eyes, Not fat.

Queen: Star Personality: Just like the king. Looks: Old, black hair, slender, blue eyes.
Daughter: Lora (oldest): Personality: Greedy and Selfish. Looks: Black Hair, Slender, Blue Eyes. Nice body.
Son: Gill: Personality: Gentle: Looks: Black hair, Green Eyes.

Greed: The city of murchants and thieves. Nothing but stone houses and huts for shops. Little else is to be said.
Queen: Mary (the only queen to rule a city without her king) Personality: Angers easily, ruthless. Looks: Fat, brown eyes, Red fuzzy hair.

Son: Mail Personality: Bored, but a nice person and calm. Looks: Nothing like the queen, slim, long blond hair, blue eyes.

Kavoth: City of the norms. Nothing special, just a mixture of all the other 3 cities.
King: Kale Personality: Calm, Understanding, Listening. Looks: Black hair, Green Eyes, has a beard.
Queen: Jen Personality: Same as King. Looks: Straight red hair, green eyes, nice body.
Son: Josef (oldest) Personality: Same as King. Looks: Red hair, green eyes, missing his left arm.
Son:Greg Personality: Angry and impatient. Looks: Black hair, Greend Eyes, has a beard and a scar on his left eye.
