sara palin cant name a newspaper she reads, or a supreme court decision she disagrees with. i can do this easily off the top of my head and im not aspiring to one of the most powerful jobs in the world. she also claims to have foreign policy experience because you can see russia from alaska. the idea that this woman is so close to being our vice president (and possibly president) scares the hell out of me.

so what do you think about her? id love to hear your reasons why you think im wrong.

PS: this is in no way sexist. i just like my world leaders to know more about the world then me.

I like Obama's stands. His choice for Biden also was the best he could do. Biden has experience in the places Obama does not such as more of the military.

He is going to tighten up the screening process for loans which mainly got us into this mess.

Palin got schooled in the debate IMO

I don't even live in America, and I'm a woman, but I seriously can't stand that woman. Even the thought of her in such a powerful position scares the hell out of me! I hope and pray that Obama wins, cause with her in a leading role will make America suffer more than it allready does :S

all of these idiotic comments came from palins only 2 unscripted interviews. needless to say mccain's campaign feels she did so good that she will not be doing anymore interviews. its ok though, im sure we will get to know her more when she is the president... seriously, after seeing this i have moved beyond thinking shes an idiot and now believe she has some kind of mental disability. with the exclusion of the bailout question this is all stuff a highschool graduate should know.

Yeah. Before Palin did those interviews with Couric, she seemed semi legit, but those interviews ruined her.

I live in a very rural area [not at college but at home], where my father ranches for a living and going hunting and things of that nature are common, and I'll say when Palin first showed up I thought it was going to be cool, since she portrayed in her own way the lifestyle that I'm from. I also thought this was going to be the ultimate "Make McCain Exciting" [see: The Colbert Report] addition. And at first they talked about how she'd worked to fix things in her own state and this and that, and I thought, "Wow, Obama was getting an edge on McCain, but this is going to change some things, huh."

Well. . yeah. It did. Coming in Palin seemed like she was a notable -positive- factor, at least I thought from my personal reaction and speculation. Oh. She's a factor alright. I'd say she is one of two main reasons I've gone from undecided to Obama is better. I honestly don't actually like either candidate but think Obama is the less worse.

Palin destroyed herself with those interviews, and by the time of the VP debate everyone watched it just to see if Biden would totally annihalite her. While she didn't totally f--- up, she was not at all close to even being Even with Biden. I really don't feel like the race is going to be close at all this year. McCain's getting dissed for agreeing with Bush and that it's going to be a continuation of that which pretty much everyone agrees sucked. I don't care how -maverick- he is. And the past elections were so close between Red and Blue that there are definitely going to be enough 'on the fence' that vote for Obama.

Wow, I'm sidetracked. SNL has been hilarious with Palin, and they don't have to work at all to make it funny. She was weak at the VP debate in many ways, but it annoyed me that she talked informally. To me, she was trying to sell the "I'm the sister/daughter/girl next door that you know, and I want to talk straight to you," often in the place of coherent, sensible answers. It'd be one thing if I believed she knew what she was talking about and that she was being genuine and sincere, but she's using it as a ploy. She also Completely catered to America's spoiled personality when she completely blamed the shark lenders. If she kisses our asses enough and winks to the men, she's hoping to be crowned Miss VP America. The way she speaks made me think of her as in a pageant saying what the judges want to hear, rather than as someone who knows America has problems and knows a way to fix them.

And if anything, she is causing detriment to equality for women. In no way do I think anyone not liking her is anti-feminist. I'd actually say feminist people would especially NOT LIKE HER. Republicans are totally using her for the 'see we like equality' and would like Hillary's vote as well. . yeah. Good luck with that one. I have met some people that would vote that way just because it'd put a woman in as VP, but I know A LOT MORE people who know the whole deal is BS in so many different ways. First of all, yes, she's a woman, but how is she presenting herself? It's fine to be pretty and try to present yourself to look nice [women are trained to do this since the time they start dressing themselves] but it's another thing to sell that. I don't think I've seen a notable wink from Biden, Obama or McCain. And some pundit commented about it, paraphrased "I'm sure I'm not the only guy in America who didn't sit up a little straighter and thought she's winking at Me." The way she is handling this is totally perpetuating a focus on her as a pageant girl, there to say pretty words and smile and not to be taken seriously.

I've never seen Obama's wife or Condi Rice act even remotely as stupid as her. And Hillary got a lot of sh-t for being a woman [read: democrats run off "Are we ready for a woman or a black man as president?] and had to constantly defend herself, but I thought that her having such a good run in the presidential election err-- democrats nomination was showing that women were really getting on the same level as men.

And then Palin shows up. She can't be taken seriously. She pisses me off.

I don't know. If someone listed pro's of Palin, I'd listen, but it'd have to be some pretty good stuff that no one knows about to convince me that she wouldn't be a total liability in the white house.

And this is coming from someone who lives in one of the reddest states and family in the country, even if I'm purple myself.
