well, it is true that they have mental problems....i guess that the ones that commit suicide just can't see the brightside like most of us...so killing themselves is the easy way out from the pain or suffer they are going through. but what i wanted to say that it is coward because they don't fight back...their mental conditions makes them cowards....i guess

I agree with the bold part 100%. I know I have not been in that position, but you have to wonder if most people who commit suicide actually consider what they are doing to those close to them. Especially the ones that don't leave letters. I mean, if you have ever known someone who has commited suicide you know how much that letter means to you. This is a situation I don't like to talk about a whole lot, but I think it is good to talk about it every now and then. When I was in 11th grade my school had a student commit suicide. To me, he was a buddy. He was not someone I hung out with a lot, but he was a good guy. To make things a little more personal for me, I sat next to him in my first period class, so we did talk at least a little almost every day. Lets just say I didn't see it coming at all. He had a girlfreind (and things acording to her were going good) and lots of friends. But he still ended up hanging himself in his garage. He left a letter thanfully. Even though it really did not answer all my questions about why he did it, it was comforting to hear and understand a little how he felt. It still hurt though. I herd about it the night is happened and was shocked. I didn't believe it. But when I got to school the next day, got into my first period class sat down, looked at his seat and started crying. I will never forget that. I guess I sorta went off a little there, but anyways I feel really bad for those close to a victim who didn't leave a letter. I know what reading that letter meant to me, I can't image what that letter means to his parents and other close family.

Suicide is wrong, life may be hard but there is help use it...anyways I don't think it's right leaving family members grief over the death of their loved ones...

I agree with most of what people have said here. People should have the right to take their own lives if they really want to, but it should be strongly discouraged. People need to think about the affect it will have on the people around them, not just themselves. Your story was really touching, Sanouske.

I do not think suicide should be illegal, which I'm pretty sure it is in the US. The law doesn't make any sense anyway.

:( @ above. I am for suicide. I believe people should be entitled to legally attempt or complete a suicide without any repercussion from their society. As long as the reason for suicide is legit.

Although, I wouldn't advocate suicide in every case. People who wishes to do so, on a whim due to the loss of a loved ones, break ups. Financial Problems, social problems etc should be denied to do so. Since, their problem can be fixed easier than suicide in most cases.

If they consider escape and live else as an alternate to suicide. Then, it would be not a suicide that they aim for, but a desperate need of changing the aspect of their lives.

So, I would be okay, if someone suicide due to an incurable cause. But, it would be too complex to write down what the list is. Individual case needs different results.

I totally agree with you on the last part, but only if it's some incurable disease, where death can't be avoided, and to be in a form of euthanasia. And that could be applied only when there is no hope left that by any chance the person would be able to recover and is suffering a great deal of unimaginable pain.

With that said, I'm also against suicide, cause a legit reason for a suicide doesn't exist.
