I am really holding back my urge to really go off on you right now. First off that is a pathetic post in a debate thread. Second, who the fuck are you to judge someone in that way? You have no clue what their lives have been like. (the victims) I know not all vicitms and situations are the same, but to call someone a coward based on one aspect of the life they lived is ignorent.

I guess I went off a little. But you really need to try and be a little more sensitive when talking about a serious issue like this. If you didn't happen to notice like 2 or 3 posts earlier I said I have a friend who has commited suicide, and for your information he was not a coward.

Basically, suicide comes into one's head, if the pain (including but not limited to stress and pressure) outweighs coping resources. This are a few examples, they are not meant as an absolute guide for justification of suicide.

If you are a spy in a foreign country captured, I would say suicide is justified as long as you are completely sure they will torture the hell out of you and back.

If you are on some kind of life support that requires a lot of money/care/time and you don't really want to live, and the family would benefit greatly, I would consider suicide justifiable. But, they should have the family's consent. This wouldn't be Euthanasia, since that is related to assisted suicide.

If, your entire nation abuses you,and moving out is completely impossible. eg Genocide, Slaves before Lincoln, Holocaust, etc
Complete Loss of Reputation or Complete Shame and humiliation. Like, Hitler's Suicide would have been justifiable. Japanese Samurais could have been, but I do not like it (this case would have not been cowardly either, the samurais and seppukku was what America and McDonald was, way of life and very expected)

Like if you had somehow ended up on deserted (not even a piece of grass) island and the only source of food is on a raft that was a kilometer off shore, and the sea was saturated with sea creatures that are bound to chase you and kill you in the most painful way as soon as you enter, would you be taking the suicide pill (in this case, a very painless one) would you rather risk the greatest gamble you might ever take for the hope of surviving a few more days, or die in a more refined manner?
(pill is salt water soluble, so you can't take it on swimming, and the chance of help coming might be lower than the chance you would succeed outrunning sharks and assorted sea creatures.)

a great and massive surge of painful, unbearable, and problems of life will cause the neurotransmitters nonrepinephrine and serotonin cease or will be secreted way below the normal level. These hormones are responsible for various of things and one main function they do is to stimulate the brain's "positive" thinking.
One cant help and one can not control how the body runs, as we run mostly of autonomous nerves that responds unconciosuly. It may not be near but in some point it is like saying getting a cold or fever is cowardice.
as we have no control over our body's activities... we may not feel it as we may have a stronger secretion and outlook in life, but to those unfortunate ones who has had nothing but misfortunes in life... one cant help but give in to these bodily urges... that is why there are psychiatric medicine to treat this disorder and natural imbalance

yes together with therapy and cooperation from his love ones the chances of suicidals can be decreased.
there are alot of anti-depressant drugs that are also called neuroleptics or major tranquilizers that can help people with low levels of nonrepinephrine and serotonin
to name a few wellbutrin is a well known drug to treat depressed people

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea. I truly believe that there are better options out there. But that doesn't mean I'm going to go out of my way to stop them from committing suicide if they wish.(Within reason though) In the end, it's the individual's choice how they want to affect everyone around them.

exactly it will be up to the individual to whether do it or not, but sometimes our body urges are just too strong to resist.

Even tho im againest suicide, I think there is 2 different kinds of courage the courage to die and the courage to live, I dont think people should kill them selfs just because of hard times, i mean shure you may have had a messed up life at times but you can make tons more better times then the amount of messed up ones you've had. If i knew of someone suicidal i of course would try to help them out to make shure they dident see it through unless they really thought that was the only way out and me being a useless wall. If your on some sort of life support machine i think suicide is more okay if your never gonna be able to recoperate, Or in another instance your in such a incredible amount of physical pain.
Meh...to be honest ive even thought about it my self when i was younger casue i may not have had to best of childhood i could have had , parents were divorced, mom was rarely around,among other things and i was afraid to go home at times casue of my older brother always knocked the shit out of me for no reason half the time(sold alot of my shit for what ever reason he needed money for...drugs probably.)So i was always at a friends house and eventually moved to my dads, and brought me out of that thought and realized it was foolish for me to think of suicide as a escape from my past.
