Like you're saying it hasn't been like that for ages. I don't think I have to clarify that it has. And presumably will be. A kill has always been more interesting than a bank fraude, and i'm guessing it'll stay that way.

Though I don't think an 11 year old will keep all of that in mind when she kills a classmate.
It's basic instinct with anger (or fear) as cause. It's as simple as that.

Here is what I ment when I said it is over glorified. Young peoplle see and here about violence too often in ways that makes it seem like they will become more popular if they fight or act aggressivly. A lot of them also don't really consider the consequences of their actions. I am not talking about aggressive sports either. I am talking about in movies, tv shows, song lyrics, internet videos, etc.

well, its sure that the number goes up, not down, my country teens just getting more and more agressive, there r many types of them, ussualy the anoying punks in the streets, walking alone home at firday night, even for ppl like me that control their emotions and know some useful martial arts as me, r almost completely unsafe, i prefer walking on main streets not because im afraid but because i prefer not getting into a mess, the police is uber active at those hours, i went once with my friend and 3 drunk punks just took out knifes, can u actually think of ANY person that u randomaly meet and just takes out some knife??? as my friend learns with me some martial arts, we preety much was able to take out of their hands the knife and throw them away, and beat them cause they were totaly drunk(we couldnt run away they just circled us), these things happend more and more, u need to know how to self defense yourself to be safe, and that safety isnt close to be complete. probably some of this kids, expirience some bad life, ignoring or even beating parents, not enough money, so they dont have enough time to be TEACHED how to be ppl, thats also comes from ppl thinking that leaving school at age 15, and walking around stabing ppl,smoking and getting by that some wet nights is "cool"... well, its getting on my nerve that i need to go to one side of my city to walk with my GF that she wont get raped on the way by some smelly drunk teen, u really cant see adults of that kind at my town... this is a serious matter... which nobody has a way to deal with...

This news really shocked me. I think the government could really change everything. I mean c'mon, I dont think these violating teens became like that just by themselves. Some may, indeed, come from poor families and just have to unleash their stress. Some may be influenced by the HipHopscene which i hope to vanish soon. Texts which tell them to rape women, beat everyone who stare at them, spew on the buschairs have to get restricted.(my list could go on)

However, I dont say that HipHop is a bad thing, the music genre itself is art but the shit that airs in MTV these days is just bullshit. Better restrict all these violating texts.

Another thing you should consider is the all day life in groups. Influencing ppl who may come out of poverty will just let the others flow along in their "life style". There aren't many teens who would really go up against these "little tyrants".

Martial Arts would be a solution. But it would have to be real strict >_>.

Well i personally hope that the hiphop scene will end soon and ppl start listening to REAL music.

Well... the thing is, it proves it's own point.

If it gets in the movies internet, etc. That means they actually WILL get more popular if they act agressively. The cause and the consquences are one and the same.

though my point all in all would be that an 11 year old girl, hasn't much to do with the glorification of agressiveness. Yeah, ofcourse, she sees some of the stuff happen on tv, and that's a reason to think: "well if it's happening that often, maybe it's okay." But I don't think that thing alone could really make you stab someone.
..but on the other hand. why doesn't animal planet make people kill people?

Maybe it does make people kill, you don't know. And even if it's the violent music and movies, what would you suggest? Stop listening to it? Stop watching it?
Nobody's setting restrictions on mcdonalds, firearm ownage, or unsafe sex. And believe me, that kills. That REALLY kills. But is the only cause really to blame?
It's never one thing. It's a sequence of screw ups, followed by one major screw-up.
I mean, if somebody listens to gangster music, that doesn't make him kill.
If someone get's picked on, that doesn't make him kill.
If somebody has (fire)arms, that doesn't make him kill.
If someone has mental problems, that doesn't make him kill.
If somebody has an appetite for horror movies, that doesn't make him kill.
If someone got kicked out of school, that doesn't make him kill.
If somebody's parents parents treated him like shit, that doesn't make him kill.
If somebody got molested, that doesn't make him kill.
If somebody gets in a fight, that doesn't make him kill.
But if all of those apply to one person, and he went through that shithole.
You've got a damn high percentage that isn't going to be your friendly neighbour kid nextdoor.

So what i'm asking myself is. Why is it that we kill off the violent music..
But don't bother doing something about the mental problems, or school problems?
The anwser is simple. But it's not something im satisfied with:
"It's the most simple, and easiest, thing to do."
It's a shame that people always take the quick road.. And though I'm saying all of this,
I'm not sure I myself would bother helping someone like the person I mentioned above..

I think deep down inside, nobody really cares. It's easy to complain about todays society,
it's much more harder to actually do something about the problems in it. And I'm honest enough to say that I recognise the problems, but I've got enough on my own mind.
I care. But not enough to actually do something. And I think that's the problem with most people.

hello and im a member of now days " youth " and really what we do isnt that bad, like there are so many more things to worry about than some kids messing around like who cares if you were a member of todays " youth" you wouldn't want people harping on about every little move u make, it sucks!
People have such high expectations and no wonder the crime rates gone up pfft i just say dont worry about it!
