an interesting show called the Aoi Bungaku Series which takes classics from japanese literature and turns them into anime shorts..

i just bought the first 2 volumes so i can't say for sure myself yet xD
but i quite liked the anime (apart from when it started to stray away from the manga as the manga was ongoing while the anime had to end) so i say it's worth a try at least
