Thanks! Weeeell, I'm free untill september, because that's when my new education will start. ^^ I just happend to graduate earlier than july..
I think I have to switch over to Skype - MSN before the 8th of april.. but it looks really shit, all the contacts put together.. >.<
So if you finish school by the end of the year, will you be done with school forever? xD

I'm doing pretty good, just graduated from school a month ago and I'm now free untill September. >.<

umm, Flatten the image? am not sure of your meaning. But if what am thinking is right! yes you will be flattening the layer on the background .
and save it as a JPG.
after all that you will be resizing the image.

Yes, copying the background and work on the copy (layer).
The layers just gives the advantage of redoing your Edit on the image without touching the pixels in the Original.

I dont resize my photos before Editing (by Edit: I mean all the tools you use in adjusting the image. Brightness- contrast- sharpening...).. I did that once and the results wasn't that good. It was as you mentioned! so i think thats why you get the blurred feeling in your images.
Oh and before Editing your photos; It was recommended to me - and i tried that my self- that i shouldn't work on the Original background while adjusting the shot.
Working on the layers would be better on protecting some of the image details

About the resizing, I use photoshop CS5.

but I think what helps me continue is taking some classes &Talk and read about photography...
