Lol, well, in short, its more like, Industry type of studies.
Say for example, University will teach you the more in depth theory parts of things, Tafe will get you more on the practical side.
It does have its draw backs in the fact that, it wont lead you to become a doctor or a full fledged scientist...but the advantage is you can work much much earlier than a university student.
For me personally, I chose Tafe over Uni just for the fact that after one semester I can work in the Childrens Hospital as a Technical Assistant, which after 2 years a Uni student still wont be qualified.
Another good plus about Tafe is, once you've done the course (Mines a 2 year Diploma) I can jump into 3rd Year Uni (Usually its 2nd, but because I got a High enough UAI, got high enough in my HSC - 78 University Academic Index, and did 3 science courses, I can jump right into 3rd) Which will allow me to be in the smae position as what I would have been if I started this year.
