    Default DDR3 vs GDDR3

    Sup guys!

I've recently went thru a few video cards that i wanna buy for my computer.

There is the 8800 GTS SSC with 512 mb GDDR3 ram <I've seen this before>
There is also an 8800 GT with 512 DDR3 ram. <I haven't seen this on video cards yet>

BTW, how much would I benefit from 2x the bandwidth on a 8800gt which apparently costs around $40 more. Just curious, I wont give up half the bandwidth for $40 with a $300 video card.

    Thanks all!

Might as well just get the 8800GTX when it comes out if it has not already for America? And it would be a typo, most graphics cards are shipped out with Graphics Double Data Rate ram.

I cannot beleive I haven't posted here yet! DDR3 RAM is relatively new...but I personally don't like it that much. It has a faster read/write rate, but it uses a slower buss that DDR2. Plus, not many motherboards out there support DDR3 RAM yet.

yea umm i have recently bought myself a leadtek 8800 GTS with 640mb GDDR3 and ive got to say its definetly more faster that a ddr2, i can get about 25% xtra clockspeed before it gets unstable and when i play supreme commander with my old video card when i hit the unit cap it usually slows a hell of a lot down, but with my new GFX card it runs smoothly..
