Cyberpunk

Just yesterday I watched Battle Angel Alita, and I was thinking, apart from Ghost in the Shell and BAA are there more cyberpunk series...
and which ones would you recommend and which ones have you watched?

Serial Experiments Lain, one of the best series I've ever seen, dark, sad, with great feel.

Texhnolyze and Ergo Proxy, dystopia and human development through sience. Warning: very slow pace.

Denno Coil and Noein - both have cyberpunk elements, but they aren't as dark and as dystopian as usually cyberpunk is.

Films: Appleseed and Metropolis.

Well i fail to c how Ergo Proxy would fit in that genre ... its more sci/fi ...

Personally i dont know any good ones apart from Appleseed,which resembles Gits...

Well, we can fight over definitions of cyberpunk. But if we assume, that one of the main features of this genre is that life is impacted by rapid technological change, then Ergo Proxy fits to this category.

Besides, no matter how we look at it, cyberpunk is just subgenre of SF.

No fair ,i cant hit a girl ... :( well true,true it still doesnt have that much of a viewers coverage for it to be an independant genre from sci-fi

I define cyberpunk as anime/films with advanced cybernetic technology becouse if every anime with some sort of advanced robot techology would be cyberpunk then Chobits also would be cyberpunk...
I have seen Appleseed alos and Appleseed Ex Machina too...good CG
so I should watch serial experiments lain then...

Play the game Deus Ex for the PC if you haven't. That's definitive cyberpunk. If you want Cyberpunk video games and books is the stuff you should be looking at.

serial experiments lain is a good choice. A lot of people who try cyberpunk in anime really fuck it up and make it boring as hell. Example: Texhnolyze

Gankutsuou has some Cyberpunk stuff but its not the main focus

played Deus Ex, if the game would be a little less laggy and buggy then would be a cool game...
