Learn how to draw Chibi/SD

now nubi those are some interesting images
first one has a nice message (is that a double rainbow all the way?), and is just an awesome view
third one has spectacular colors, too bad you can't remember much about the image because I always find it really hard to get convincing natural colors on photos (mine always look just a bit too much, too much red, too much blue etc...)
fourth one is a debatable one, it has two focus points (one in the distance and one diagonally in the left bottom corner). I think that a part of the river that separates and moves to the bottom left kind of connecting the two focus points helps a lot because it stops the focus points competing for attention. Like this the diagonal stretch of forest gave the image a sense of dynamics, it is quite possible that without it the image would be quite boring and a bit overexposed.
Last one is great, I'd usually cut out the farthest building on the left out (the one that's sticking in the shot with it's top. I think I even might cut out the building crane in the distance out. It seems quite sharp but there's definitively a sense of depth (and size) given by the body of water and the small houses in the front of large buildings. Small houses give you that measuring tool needed where you can actually see how incredibly large the buildings are.
oh and a must click!:

Oh wow, thanks for those comments and constructive criticisms ljetibo! I never even thought of considering focus points until you mentioned it, I'll be sure to keep that in mind next time. :D
I don't really have any formal knowledge on photography, I just play around with the buttons and features on whatever camera I'm using until it looks right to me, so I could definitely use the constructive criticism and learn something :)

that's usually the best way to learn something......
but like you said, knowing how to express yourself does count for something because it makes it easier for you to think of exactly what you want to do with the photograph

ok, so time for some old school stuff...
don't know how many of you know how to develop photos or work old time mechanical cameras but this is what I've been doing with a friend of mine for some time now.
Experimenting a bit with chemistry, photography and camera obscura.
SO about 2 weeks ago we cooced our first batch of photography emulsion, when you cook it (literally, ~40°Cfor couple of hours with gelatin, potassium iodide, silver nitrate, sodium chloride ,potassium chloride, citric acid and ammonium bromide I believe) you get a gel you melt the gel and apply it to the paper, it has to stand there for 24h and voila you get your self a bad photographic paper (well it's still bad, but we'll get better at it)....
anyhooow we took that home made photographic paper, and in a dark room put it in a camera obscura (small tin box), went out ant tried to take pictures, so this is what we got:
f is around 60 (with a little of math this is what you get) and exposition time is about 3-5minutes (which is sort of fast for camera obscura).
You can see all the spots we missed while coating the paper and the lines are also mistakes during coating, but I think it came out ok for the first time.....

Some pictures taken in my yard, this is the magnolia grandiflora tree by my house. That tree was a birthday present for my now late grandmother, and she got it about 20 years ago.. Pictures were taken with my Nokia 6680 phone a few years ago:
On the last picture there is a lemon tree by the stairs in front of the window...
Like Adam in chains...I want revenge.. (Billy Idol)
WOW. That tree's so pretty! My parents have a couple of them, but they're still only a couple years old and very small. They also don't bloom as much yet. So I'm hoping they will end up like this, then?
Also... do you actually get lemons on the lemon tree? If so, I might invest in trying to plant one!

the only lemons I got from my lemon (not related to the one from the image) are some sort of dwarf lemonish bloobs xD
I guess it's a bit too cold for them where I live....
oh and a must click!:
Hey, LJ. That's what I was afraid of too... is getting those blobs that you cannot really use. But I was just wondering if it's worth a try. I have a garden, and I want to start cultivating soon. :D It's springtime, so it's getting closer to the time where everything needs to be planted. I'm just waiting for the chill to leave, before all my sprouts die or something. >.<
