But when she knew that it was him at the tanabata three years ago, she would know that time travel is possible instead of just believing it, which would lead to a big mess in time because then she would think that time travels are the most normal thing in the world instead of something mysterious and special.

well, it`s not about his name but about the fact that there are time travellers and aliens and espers in the world, this would lead to chaos. That`s why they try to have haruhi fun without her knowing of the crazy stuff, that happens around her...
