So, I presume this is a high school project? What attracts me to anime? Two main reasons:

-Music: Most anime scores provide me a very good representation of Japanese music and composers. Most music in anime are far more better than the music I listen to elsewhere.
-Mythology: I like Japanese mythology. So I find the corresponding language appealing.

Why anime is better than comics?, because it is more mature and anime tends to be less censored than westernized programs

post richly those who don`t post will get punishment from god, those who post will get cookies from god...
It seems most of you do have the same opinion, well less censoring...is this a reason for the others as well? i mean the...adultness...you know...

What attracts me to anime? Storyline, like there is always a beginning and an end but it's visual (unlike a book) and long (unlike a movie) you get to know and love the characters. Art, I love how emotion is displayed on characters faces, the detailed battles. Feeling, their always is a definite feeling like there the childish loves and the pure hearted heros, while also having a reason behind the bad guy - like he/she's not that bad, the series always makes me feel happy, always. ^_^
Differences to other media? I already stated some. um i guess it's just that it's fun, exciting, serious, romantic all in one and does it good? also there are just some things you can only do in animation at the moment special effects only go so far - but they are getting there.
Reaction? Happy? uh, well i cry with it i laugh with it i get angry with it or embarassed....i feel what the character feels usually. it's like a rollercoaster ride of emotions because everything is SO over dramatic but yet in a way that doesn't make me want to roll my eyes and go "UGH"
Reason? HA! I do because it's fun, because i think it looks interesting, cool, or funny.
Main trait? Story. honestly the best stories i read/watch are more often than not anime/manga.

    Thanks Mykka!

Well, I hope you will find my post helpful with your assignment! I have to apologize in advance, it's real REAL late here(3:28am when I started writing this) so there are bound to be mistakes and I am most certainly going to miss out on a thing or two... Hope you don't mind ^^

Another fact is the music tracks provided in anime. They are much more professional and appealing. Some anime has gained popularity solely from its music tracks.
Due to my lack of strength to think of my own text I shall borrow a chunk of uekis :) I know he won't mind :)
I find myself thinking very much alike as ueki :O More or less those are my feelings about anime exactly! I've finished watching Suzuka a couple minutes ago and I am still stricken by the anime, so I can't even be fluent with my writing ^^; sorry again

I guess that those romance/slice of life/drama anime leave the biggest impression on me. The slice of life part is what amazes me most, probably because I am still at that age, similar to the characters :) who knows :) Then comes the romance.... It just blows my mind away.... That combination, having in mind that it's drawn anime style.... I just lack the words to describe the feeling... It's just weird I know :D

SO, now that I've made a complete fool out of myself by showing you just how disoriented I can be when it comes to writing something meaningful, I will take my leave and go to sleep :D

P.S. It's not my fault... Suzuka was epic :D

P.P.S. I just saw the date on this.... What a fool I am... Hope I am not too late xD
Open up your mind and you will feel it too, the sound, the touch, the thought that you've been so blind to...

I suppose everything in it. Everything you can't find anywhere else, from the maturity to the range of the stories and genres, to the unique animation, to the wonderful and unique voice acting. There is something for everyone to keep you entertained even if you get bored. With the wide selection available these days, you can always find something new to motivate you to keep on watching anime.

Plus, the way the japanese culture is expressed through anime, shows more than a culture, more than a way of life - it's mind, body and soul combined toghether in all aspects of life.

The sheer commitment put into an anime is enough to make you awe.

i like anime mostly because of the graphics and pictures.. you cant really see guys which are really cool looking and just absolutely perfect.!!!!

and a lot of things can happen inside the story of an anime.. i love its story which you cant basically find on other kinds of comics.. the attitude of the characters are also very unique and it just wants you to slap them or laugh at them both at the same time..

and also sometimes anime really just give you the feeling of both being inside and outside of reality.. with just normal characters that you can find in your daily lives but with weird facial expressions.. haha.. ^_^

and its is just absolutely fun to watch.. and you will never just get tired of watching it... no matter what age you are.. where you are or what your social status is.. ^_^

    hope this helps...
