Very important thread: Why is it Anime?

My reason :

I used to like reading manga when i was a kid (and dont have access to internet) and i like when the author draw funny faces on the character when they mad, laughing, etc. So when i found out that i can see it in anime, it makes me really excited.

Besides graphic, storyline is very important too. Some anime has a very good storyline that can be compared to a real drama series or movie (or even better in my opinion). No drama series can make me cry like when i watched Clannad. I tried to watch a real drama series, but none of them can make me feel attached or feel how's the main cast feeling.

Other aspect that's very important is the soundtrack. Lots of anime has a very good soundtrack. Some anime even become popular because of it' soundtrack.

I also has other reason but i can't explain it since it's personal.

What's the difference between anime and other animated media :

I think anime has more storyline, better drawing, and music compared to other animated media (or maybe it isn't better, but people have different taste and i prefer anime's drawing style). To be honest, i find American's comic / cartoon drawing is odd.

It depends on the place were it is made, if it's made in east Asia then it's anime. But this is something invented in America, in Japan they use anime as a general term for animation.

Chomio, that's not quite correct.
Anime stands for Japanese animation, actually, and it's not an anime because it's made in Japan, but because it has the art style of the original anime.
And we're not to decide wether something is an anime or not, the producer decides that. :D

What is it, that attracts you to Anime?
I guess, it has all to do with the art, soundtrack, BG music and the main object Storyline. I've never seen other animated movies/series with such an effort in everything.
Where do the main differences between Anime and other animated media lie?
Like I said earlier. The effort in everything. The art, music, storyline etc, everything is just great and beautiful. Other animated media doesn't have this all.
What is your personal reason to watch Anime?

And finally what do you think is the main trait of Anime (for example: storyline, genres, girls.
For me it's the art and storyline.

Sorry for grave digging but i just had to say this
I finally had my anme presentation and although speaking on japanese for an hour was quite tiring it had become wonderful presentation (without being decent) and my teacher was really impressed.
