Learning Japanese because of watching anime ?

Anyone interested or is learning Japanese because of watching anime ? How about learning Japanese while watching anime ? You can but you'd have to have a basis of how the lingo structure works because animes are full of slangs.

with me it`s the other way round i once started watching animes after learning japanese in school... but I don´t think you can really learn much by watching... well at least you get some catchphrases...

yeah catch phrases are pretty much it. Most stuff is derived from the formal Japanese. It's still good though because once you happen to be in a group young Japanese you'll know what they are talking about.

Every time I watch anime it makes me want to learn japanese ...but it's kinda hard learning from just watching/listening to subbed animes, so yeah like catchphrases are the easiest to know!! ...and I would really like to go to japanese classes and learn it for real ...but don't know if we even have places like that here cuz I never tried ...

what about the internet ? It's full of free learning material. If your seriously interested I can give you a pretty good site that explains everything from scratch up to advance. All you have to do is start learning vocabulary and Japanese symbols :P

I learn japanes all because of animes,
but it may not be a good way, u dont know if the sub is correct or not
the sturcture and voc u cant learn them from animes
so maybe online learning might be a good way too

oh yeah I know the internet has plenty and I've checked sites only for the japanese alphabet :P but would be great to be in one of those classes in japan learning it but whatever xD sure man you can give me that link, it's a start ^^

anime is the reason that i want to learn japanese
there is a nintendo DS game called "My japanese Coach"
they teach you the basic words and everything will going be diffucult later
and you learn how to write Kanji

Yeah as many said above - you can learn catchphrases, nouns, verbs and those stuff.

And you are able to understand those easy sentences.
e.g. in comedy or romance many words or sentence-brackets are used very often so its easier to remember them.

I would like to learn japanese if you could do it purely from listening and not starting by writing the words and stuff. ;-)

I've been interested.. yes, but not tempted enough to actually learn it..
I picked some words up, and that was good enough for me x)
