Best world/Best setting (2012): Nominations

Sorry for the late creation of this thread, was a bit distracted with uni work.
But here it is, our next contest!

Ever watched an anime and thought to yourself "I'd love to live in this world.." or "Wow that setting is amazing!"?
Ever thought that this setting needs a prize of some sort?
Well here's your chance to get your anime this prize!
Name your top 3 best anime settings and your choice might be the winner~

Of course there have to be a few rules to regulate this.
- With "Best world/Best setting" we mean this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Setting_%28fiction%29 . The time, place, mood, history and everything that forms the basis of the story. Like the ninja filled world from Naruto or the or the post apocalyptic future world from Ergo Proxy.
- If multiple anime have the same setting all these anime count as one entry. (for example sequels or anime stated to take place in the same world)
- You must describe the setting if you nominate it.

and of course our general rules:
-Each member can only make one post. If this rule is ignored any subsequent posts WILL be ignored.
-In each post you must name AT MOST 3 characters/anime/objects that they want to nominate.
-You MUST explain your reasons for nominating a character/show/object.
-If you wish to change your nomination, this must be done by editing your post.
-Do NOT advertise* a character/anime/object.
-The shows with the most nominations will get passed on to the voting round.
-If there is a tie between characters/anime/objects both will be passed on to the voting round.

For me it would be;

Eureka Seven
(This is about future, where Earth has united with an alien life form.... yeah Alien;
and humans are considered its enamies/wasters, it is a very nice setting)

(I like that historical Victorian like setting. Also the Akuma Machines, Black order and everything blends in well ^^)

Tsubasa Reservior Chronicles
(gotta love the creativity there by Clamp, this setting is also common to xxxHolic and Card Keptor Sakura in a way)

The world of Mushishi this world has a slow pace, yet captivating, you can find a lot of amazing creatures and can meet your doom in a lot of not so ordinary ways, I find this a romantic and stoic world where as a character you are not bound by so many rules, only the flow of time. Here is presented a more rural world with simple, people that get tangled in extraordinary circumstances. Is a colorful and beautiful world where ones imagination may came to life.

Samurai Champloo as a representative of the Feudal Japan setting, here you can find samurais and wanderers that look for revenge or a purpose in life, running away from something or traveling to forget the past and find the furure.

The RPG setting of Hunter X Hunter OVA 2: Greed Island, here is an island where like in any Rpg game you can do stuff and get award for it, and there is even a goal, to collect all type of cards in the game, you have NPC and quests, but the character you are playing is you, you get transported into that world and there are healing spells but not second life, is interesting and fascinating.

Hmm... It's actually harder than I thought it would be to think of some good worlds.

- Fullmetal Alchemist
■ I think it would be cool to walk around in a world full of alchemy. Not just for Destruction but also making or fixing things like Ed and Al did when they were young. And it's around the beginning of the 20th Century so there are no computers etc. I think I would be a lot smarter because I wold read a lot more.

- Soul Eater
■ A world with Weapons and Meisters? Sounds pretty cool to me. Being able to transform into a weapon or handle your partner that just transformed into a weapon to defeat evil guys and witches, That's pretty awesome.

- Air Gear
■ Rollerblades with motors in it? You could go to work without moving yourself! Or join one of those awesome groups. It would become a whole new sport.

weapons killing.peoples hearts. the best anime i've watched til now. Action, Magic, Sci-Fi its an exciting future i love the characters and the setting is awsome.

-deadman wonderland
the fear inside a person. its an amazing anime with Action, Horrorand and Sci-Fi. its kinda Mysterious so you just wanna know whats about to happen next.and the setting is pretty good.

Soul Eater : i love the whole world were there is two people working together as one( the weapon and the user ) to like ....defeat evil hahah ...and i love it :) And it just looks so cool ( e.g. the moon / sun ) . Also the fact that its based in a school and Death is the principal hhahah its great .

D.Gray-man : Again i love the fighting of defeating demons and protecting humans . I find it really interesting and i ... well love it :L:L
Also the fact theirs one bad guy ( The Earl ) and him minions o.O

Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu
This is a side show of a good mecha anime, in a school territory.. I love the hilarious sketches and moments, it makes you burst out with laughter and leaves you with tears in your eye's (of laughter that is). the characters are perfectly balanced and well made for each other.. the whole anime is complete, you don't need to see the main story to understand what's going on. There are 2 main characters, one is a special agent (sousuke sagara) and must defend a girl ( kaname chidori) only sousuke is white-black thinking person and orders are absolute. This anime is a must watch. that's why I nominate it.

Elfen Lied
this bloody starting anime of a sinister girl starts slowly (in my opinion) but slowly, the story unfolds and more questions arise.
This background of this girl is very unclear.
The girl is a mutated form of a human, they have pink hair and little horns. They are bloodthirsty and see 'normal' humans as bugs and not worthy so they don't think twice about killing a human.. it doesn't matter for them.
Later in the story you'll find out that the 'mutants' are misunderstood and misused military gain, you'll see more things and see why she became like that, it touches you. 2 main characters, the pink haired girl and a boy. At first thought nothing to do with each other.. but in their past very close...
I love the way the emotions of the characters are descripted and played out.
It has a very rich story and that's why this deserves to be nominated.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
This is a world where humans aren't allowed to live above the ground, they are banned to live in caves and dig their villages in the ground. because on the surfaces there are beasts roaming who kill them at sight. The beasts have big mecha at their disposal, so they are overpowered.
There is a young boy who looks up to his older brother (not his actual brother, but they both see them as brothers) who is very inspirational and believes in a better world where humans can live on the surface.
On day the young boy finds a very small mecha when he was digging. this changes everything, he and his older brother forms a gang and forms a rebellion against the beasts. They win it, but nothing is what it seemed to be and they find out why humans had to live underground.
I choose this anime to be nominated because of its inspirational content. They endure and keep on fighting for their sake, find new people to love and lose loved ones.. it has a well written romantic story, inspiration, aspiration, friendship and humor..
It really is a good anime and also a must see.

hmm... It can be anything right? So, mine will be:
1. FT (Fairy Tail)
Magic, Love, Advanture~ That's totally my favorite anime genre!!! I really like it when they start to fight using their super cool magic to defend their guild or just doing some missions. And I also love the part where there is a love between those wizards.

2. Naruto
A world of ninjas that keeps on fighting for their life, friends, village, and everything!! This anime is sooooo damn cool! It has some part where someone needs to take his/her own path to be stronger so he/she can protect those who are precious to them. Or, they can seek those power for revenge on someone. But, these guys, they have something that's special in each person, and that's THEY'RE NINJA WAY!!

3. Detective Conan
It's about a detective that was turned into a kid because he swallowed a medicine that was given by some black organisation guys. To defend his life, his girlfriend, his friends, his family, and the family he was currently living right now, he solved the case around him while keep on searching the true identity of those who give him that medicine, so he can go back normal.

Adventures, magic, danger... and a past that is unclear almost till the end...
It's amazing how I was drawn into that world and cried in the end (for those who haven't read it yet I won't tell if they were tears of joy or tears of sadness)

2nd choice:
InuYasha:
I love the time, I love all the folklore, the youkai, the hanyou, I love the anime and the story... nothing else to say =)

3rd choice:
Fairy tail:
simply because I like magic and worlds with magic... and in fairy tail there's not just one world... there are TWO!!
though they're not connected anymore...

Fullmetal Alchemist
The world is very complete, there's a history behind it. I like the mix of science and magic in everyone's lives. Interesting military-government as well as governments of other countries. obvious culture, industrial setting.
D.Gray-Man
The monster and how no one can see them until they show themselves, the industrial period time setting, the general dark atmosphere. I like how the people know about akuma and the exorcists, and how the exorcists and the people and akuma interact. Also a lot of it comes from sybolism in our own world spiritual/religious/mthyology and that's really cool. There seems to be a lot of history to it, almost as it it has been there the whole time, rather than just a simple setting.
