Avatar : Legend of korra

Ok guys, I KNOW that Avatar isn't actually an Anime, it's a cartoon. But... since so many of us are Avatar fans to begin with, I thought I'd post it here in the General Anime section.

I was skeptical at first, upon hearing that there was a second series, especially after the LA film Avatar : The Last Airbender was a flop. (However, I still enjoyed the film and the special effects, even though it didn't remain true to the series characters!) I have just watched the trailer to the second series, the story of Korra the Avatar after Aang. I have to say, I'm intrigued. WILL BE WATCHING! AND it's a STEAMPUNK! <3

I know, I was reading the synopsis on nickelodeon's webpage for it, saw "steampunk" and practically exploded with happiness XD
I watched the first episode so far (it was free on itunes for those who don't know, might still be free I'm not sure). I liked it, I'm interested to see where this story will take us!
I hear there's a romance between one of the brothers and Korra, which looks pretty cute!

Also, did anyone notice how on the title for the first episode it read "Book one: Water, Episode 1:" whatever the episode name was...makes me wonder...is there going to be more seasons? :D :D

I'm a huge fan of the series, and this one's animation looks even better with the last, naturally. I too, am a diehard steampunk fan. :) The series seems entirely watch-able, and it seems that you are right with the BOOK ONE WATER! D: That MUST mean they're planning a good audience, and going to continue with the series! :D I hope they got lots of watchers tuning in so they will continue the project.

i watched it right away of course and i wasn't disappointed.. the story seems to be in a world not too long after the end of the first, the new avatar was found and.. well is an extremely talented bender with sokka's act first think later attitude. it's also hilarious to see what became of the previous main character's offspring and what they're like (especially aang's xD)

i'm not gonna spoil anything so try looking it up, it's probably still floating around somewhere.

*Edit : I've located and watched both EPISODES ONE AND TWO!!!!!! I cannot even begin to say how excited I am for this series. As usual, not only is the humour fantastic, but as DG said the generations you get to experience is heart warming. I cannot WAIT for the full series! D:

P.S. I spelled Legend as Ledgend. Pft. What a moron. Anyways, look up Legend of Korra! :)

Oh wow when I first saw this thread I couldn't believe it, I loved the first avatar!xD Okay, you're right Yoko, it's "technically" not anime, (well anime as we know it) but it was inspired by anime, so it's more of America's version of it, so therefore it counts. The first one was epic, and I just loved how they did the story, I just wish that Nickelodeon had made an uncut version of it, then put the edited version on TV, it would have been better that way in my opinion. It would have been better if they had the story take place after Aang was all grown up, but I guess taking place in the far off future is okay too.^^

Well, I have totally forgotten about this! Good, about time. I was a big fan of the original series.

There's a lot of crap out there nowadays, plus my artistic expectations are crushed by the endings of Mass Effect 3 -_-... this new series will be like an advil, lol. Need to go and watch it right away...

I feel like I'm behind about ten years in the series department because I did not know about this. I will definately be watching it! I enjoyed the old series and even the film (even though it wasn't the best adaption and I think it could have been better). I'm also in agreement with Northernian, something decent would be nice and I've got all fingers crossed for this.

@Ryoga, I would have loved to see Aang and Zuko work together to create the Republic City that takes place in the new one, but Aang would have to pass, for there to be another Avatar, so I see why they did that.

@North, I know ME3 totally sucked, but at least they're making a new ending, right? :P And f.y.i., I think you're really going to like this new series. It honestly looks amazing! I was reluctant to watch it, and as a matter of fact, I neglected the trailer until I heard rumours that it was exciting. When I watched the trailer I just... had to watch it! :D

And @Sproggy, JUST WATCH! You're going to LOVE IT! :D

Those first two episodes were great, I can't wait until they actually air on television so that we can see more!
The characters are all really fun and I like the allusions to the first series :D
and do I see a romance brewing? :3
