My favorite is still Princess Mononoke. Those newer Miyazaki's films are too "simple" for my taste.

Princess Mononoke seems to be an average favourite. I should have made a poll out of this section. Aside from the 'newer' ideal of the romantic Howl's Moving Castle, I've found Princess Mononoke to be probably thee most popular of the Ghibli films. Simply because of it's depth and powerful messages to mankind. Also... it's more of the timeless romance that pleases the female audience...

First of all, almost all movies that Ghilbi maked was awesome.
All the films that Ghilbi maked, have a meaning behind it.
But if i have to choose it would be...

I srsly cried at Grave of The Fireflies. It was so sad... Q.Q
    Spirited Away is awesome.
And How's Moving Catle, have a good story.

Well, mine favo would be Grave Of The FireFlies, Second is Spirited Away, and Porco Rosso have a funny story, so it will be Third.

There are 3 that I find difficult to choose from:
Laputa Castle in the sky, My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away
Spirited Away is a very good film with good structure.
Laputa is a great film with twists, you'd think the pirates are the bad people but it turns out to be the government official guy.
My neighbor Totoro provided me with a lot of lols ^^
But I'm gonna have to go with Laputa as it has all of the above :D
My fave scene: When the pirates visit the girl while she's cooking to help out/ make their move on her and they are shocked to find out that theirs a lot of them their. LOL their ALL pervs :P

Princess Mononoke for sure, runner up is Grave of the Fireflies.

    -=-=Incomplete Anime Movement (IAM)=-=-
For years, we have been suffering incomplete anime's, incomplete endings. Studio's making series 12 to 26 episodes long where the ending is left open, incomplete, and awkward. This movement is to stop production companies from ending series suddenly, finish them properly, and correct. If you are the lucky one's caught off guard with...

    • Unexplained ending due to it ending suddenly
    • Open ending expecting a season 2

Fight back and spread the word. Anime is not a profit margin, its a way of life!

My favorite is probably Castle in the Sky. It was the first Ghibli film I had ever watched next to Kiki's Delivery Service. I was young, so I never really understood the plot but was so interested in the flying machines and castles. I took a strong liking to Bola(?) too 'cuz damn she was funny to look and listen to. Next has to be Howl's Moving Castle. Honestly, and for once in my whole lifetime, I though the movie was much better than the book. The storyline went much smoother. Then, it's Spirited Away. I just really liked the heart that Chihiro had in that film.

My first Ghibli film was Kiki's Delivery Service. It was the first time I'd been introduced to the warm-heartedness of Ghibli films, and I got such a positive feeling from it I tended to re-watch it daily for a while. :)

I love how every Ghibli film is touching, and philosophical to a point where children can actually learn about and come to understand humanity more. Each film caters personally to different life experiences of each of the audience members. For me, Grave of the Fireflies is most personal. I watched it with my two younger siblings, and my heart broke thinking about what the main character went through. This is why I love Ghibli films.

And the soundtracks are probably my favourite part of the Ghibi experience! Each and every film has an incredible soundtrack that enhanced the Ghibli experience by like, 10, lol. I have six of the original soundtracks, and plan to finish the collection. :)

I guess my favorite has to be Nausicaa of the valley of the wind, watched it for the first time when I was 6 or 7 and I absolutely loved it. At first, I watched it daily, then I watched it at least 3 times a week. Nausicaa was so inspiring, I wanted a magical kingdom just like hers and I wanted to fight the bad guys and save my people. This went on for years till I was 11, a little too busy with studies and my vcr broke too [Oh the woes! I still have my vhs collection, my mom wants me to throw them out]

Thinking back now I can easily understand my obsession with this gem of a movie. And while it's true I didn't understand the full story till I watched it again some years back, I still loved it. The drawings, the characters, the creatures - it was all so creative. I actually drew inspiration from this one for a fashion project I did in college.

Howl's Moving Castle - I think this anime is very charming. I fell in love with this one the first time I saw it, also made me cry a bit. It's a treat to watch and I never tire of it. It's a sweet tale and I guess I have to agree with Otamega here, it is indeed better than the book :)

Princess Mononoke - I can't believe I missed out on this wonderful work of art. Only watched it after I joined AA, and I'm so glad I did. Everything about this anime is refreshing and wonderful. There's something about this movie, it kind of transports me to a mythical place [almost] and it makes me want to be more connected with nature.

Oh, and I absolutely love the soundtrack of all Ghibli movies!
